I need some support, my 13 month old is not walking yet and I am super depressed. Everyone in his birthday club are walking. He cruises a lot around furniture but does not stand on his own or take steps. :-( I am just worried and not trying to compare him to any other kid.

Well keeping the faith is all I have I have miscarried twice this year and I am currently further along then either two times! Yeah! so in my excitement I have picked a few names I like but it doesn't hurt to throw them up against public opinion! Don't be too hard on me my baby will be half white half black so they are a bordering unique to say the least. Suggestions are welcome!

My daughter is 6 days old...my milk came in about 3 days ago...she latched on pretty good from the beginning...i had to supplement with some formula, though to help get rid of her jaundice. So now she seems to only eat for like 5-7 minutes about every 2 1/2 to 3 hrs...at night, she eats a little more, but doesnt seem to be fussing about being hungry or anything. she is having an adequate number of wet and poopy diapers, but she just wants to sleep all the time. (im not complaining about the sleeping all the time problem--im now a mom of 2 under 2 yrs ) :P

So is this normal....she had a check on her jaundice when she 4 days old and she had already gained 3 oz.

should i just leave well enough alone??

My daughter's hands and feet are always cold when I get her from her crib in the morning...doc said not to worry, but I was just wondering if anyone else has that happen...also, I know I will get a lot of mixed opinions on this, but how long do you think it is okay to let her cry at night after I put her to bed and she wakes back up? I always make sure she is fed, burped, changed, etc. and I rock her to sleep. But she usually wakes up about 10 minutes after I put her down in her crib. I always go back to check on her, but she stops crying as soon as I pick her up so I know she is okay. I really don't like the "let her cry" thing too much, but she needs to learn to sleep at night. So I am just wondering how long you guys think is an appropriate amount of time...thanks for any advice!!

And what age did you actually have classes (or seminars, or whatever) at? My curiosity is aroused...I never had any in school, partly due to this being a Catholic country. Share your thoughts, please.

My closed adoption was not emotionally healthy for me. I was glad in recent years to hear that most adoptions were now 'open' meaning that there would be meetings, gifts, photos, and most important--ongoing information.

From what I read now, it seems these agreements orcontracts are not honored much, if at all.

My question is this--how would you have felt, upon meeting your natural mother, to find out that the agreement was not honored, and she was intentionally shut out of your life.

Photos and gifts were ignored or destroyed, the relationship was severed, all promises broken, maybe your adoptive family moved away to gain distance from your mother...

How would that affect your relationship with your adoptive family?

kids learning games?
I have two boys 4 and 6 yrs old would like to get them something that they can have fun with but first and formost helps them with their learning. I want my 4 yr old to get a headstart and get him prepared when he starts pre-k next year. And my 6 yr old now in the 1st grade could use some extra help. I know there is lots of stuff out there like these leapster, v-tech, that hook up to your tv, handheld and and and but it's not so easy to choose which one to get. Does anyone own any of this learning games? What would you suggest? It should be kid resistant if you know what I mean cause I read that lots of these games work with cards and such that are very easy torn and just plain simple distroyed. I want something that works and if possible lasts more than just a month or so
