You should always check with your doctor before taking any kind of medication well pregnant. That being said, I know how hard it sometimes is to get ahold of your doctor. When 11 weeks pregnant with my son I suffered from headaches and did finally get in touch with my doctor who recommended 2 tylenol every six hours as I needed them. For every other pain or problem I have had in pregnancy she has again recommended tylenol. In my opinion anything you can do to relieve the pain naturally is first choice, but if that does not work tylenol seems to be the doctors choice. Hope this helps.

Yes, Tylenol is safe. There are other safe medications listed in this site, as well:

You should, of course, ask your doctor before taking anything since certain things may be contraindicated. You could also try alternative methods to relieve the pain, such as a warm bath.

There is no better expert than your OBGYN. I would call and ask what they're advice is.

Generally, taking 2 *tylenol* every 4 hours-as needed- is okay. Asprin products are NOT safe, so stear clear of them.

Hi.....please go see your OBGYN doctor as soon as possible and ask what is safe to take for your discomfort. Tylenol is one the most recommended meds prescribed for pregnant women....however........let your Doctor prescribe this advice to you.
This is something that should have been explained to you when you first visited your OBGYN Doc during your Pre-natal exam.
Do NOT take anything until you've been examined by your OBGYN physician.
Makle that call to him/her first thing in the morning. If your discomfort worsens or symptoms change with you tonight or before you see your OBGYN.......please call 9-1-1.......
Best Wishes to you.......

Yes, Tylenol (acetaminophen) is the only OTC pain killer that is considered safe during pregnancy...no Advil (Ibuprofen), no aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). Normal dosage instructions apply.

Short answer is yes, but follow the directions and never take more than advised. Longer answer, always ask your doctor these questions, Obstetricians are used to all the questions pregnant women ask, and they should always be willing to answer every question.

My wife was taking calcium for the leg cramps and the pain. Call your Dr. about any other things like tylenol etc.
