So Is it ok to throw a shower if the older child is 6. Having no baby things kinda qualifies a baby shower right? Some say no but if you dont have anything whatever can you do. A lunch-in after baby cant happen if you dont have anything?

My 3 week old baby is having difficulty eating. She has been throwing up nearly half of her bottles. We have been using Enfamil Lipid w/ Iron powdered formula but yesterday switched to Enfamil Lipid w/ Rice Cereal starch powdered formula. She's done better w/ this newer formula but I'm worried it might be too heavy for her. I am also trying to pump as well. Is it okay to give her both formula & breastmilk? Not combined, of course, but I mean one at a time.

I'm sure every woman at some point in her pregnancy has wondered if she's having twins. In my family we've had 3 sets of fraternal (boy-girl) twins. Two sets were born to my cousins and one of the sets is my own father (and his twin sister).

So I've always wondered how good my chances were. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I'm 29 years old.

Also, mothers who have had twins, what did you notice very early in the pregnancy that tipped you off to the fact you were having multiples?

I know at first it sounds selfish, but I hope I die during childbirth. I think it'd be best for the baby in the long run. My family's great and would be able to take care of her. I have 7 siblings, the youngest is only 9 so she'd be like another kid in the family.

I just have no desire to live anymore and I know a baby shouldnt be around someone who is miserable and bitter. I never wanted kids, but I got pregnant and couldn't bear to kill a baby. I can't give it up for adoption, my bf would never sign off on that, my family would be pissed, and I wouldn't be able to live with myself anyways. Everything is gone now. My life, my relationship with my bf. I'm already angry and bitter about men, I don't want my daughter picking up on that. And I don't want to be around to see him stop by every once and a while for a play date while I bear the real responsibilities. I just don't see any options out of this. No matter what happens I look like the bad guy, so why not just die?

Recently I was having a baby name discussion with some girlfriends and 3 of the 5 of us hated the name Keith. I personally have no strong feelings about it. But 3 of these women hate the name, I mean passionately. What do you think?

He's 3 months old and only his feet are really sweaty. The temperture inside our house is about 70 degrees and the rest of his body is fine but his feet are just always sweaty. Is this normal and why? He has no socks on right now.

to food or anything else, I know the first thing to do is to call 911. But...what if she stops breathing before they can get here? If her throat closes up I can't do CPR without an established airway. They don't make infant Benadryl...only Children's. I plan on talking to my pediatrician about this, but it's Friday night, so I can't ask him until Monday. I'm just hoping that somebody has some advice for my peace of mind. I'm a first time (paranoid) mom. Thanks to all that can help.

My son can take anywhere between 10 minutes to an hour. BUt when it's that long it's usually for comfort and not some much hunger. He's 3 months old.

I am pregnant and my husband and I tried to have intercourse but failed because something is blocking him from insertion. It feels like a wall of my vagina is swollen. I am 37 weeks, 3 centimeters dilated, 50% thinned out. Could this possibly be the baby? Swollen part is finger size.

Alright, i'm pregnant and i've been sick pretty much all day, every day, since last week. I've been trying to eat saltine crackers, pretzels, and kept drinking 7up. Nothing seems to keep the sickness away... any good ideas? I do plan on going to the doctor sometime soon to get those pills that resolve 'morning sickness'... However i can't seem to keep anything in my stomach, and i have trouble eating!

I am about to give birth (any moment hopefully). Childcare in my area is about 60% of my income. I am debating whether its even worth returning to work. I really am looking for a stable way I can work from home. Any really good ideas?

my daughter just turned 12 months (yea!) and i'm running out of things to feed her. she's at a weird stage right now, not quite ready for all solids, and yet she wants more than just mush. She HATES the gerber pasta pick ups (can you blame her? have you tried them? ew), but she likes the pasta rings and the potato sides...and she eats canned peaches, whole banannas, yogurt, soft cut up chicken or beef, soft cooked veggies....stuff like that. But I don't cook that stuff everyday. And what about breakfast and lunch? SHe eats yo-baby yogurt or "cinnamon granola" jar everyday for breakfast....I'd just like to change things up and maybe let her explore more...thanks. Oh, and she's no-lactose, so no cheese or milk ideas please. Thanks :)

My friend called me up yesterday fuming because her daughter was just caught trying to shoplift from a DVD store and actually spat in the security guard's face when he caught her, and tried to run off. Nevertheless, her daughter is now stocking shelves at the convenience store her mom owns (without pay) and will be doing so for a week.

I'd be angry if she were my daughter, but I think what my friend did was harsh. I would have made her personally apologize instead. What are your thoughts on how it should've been handled?

She's nearly 7. She seems to be very defiant. Behaviour that she knows I dislike she imitates all the time, like she's taunting me. Things I've told her she shouldn't do (like crying like a baby with her mouth wide open) because it's inappropriate, she keeps doing, right in my face. I've tried everything and she just won't listen.
I'm quite strict, she doesn't get her own way, she's not spoilt. This is behaviour she's had since she was tiny, and nothing works. In every other way she's lovely. But she seems to have a thing about anything naughty, irritating or anything her mother doesn't like. She deliberately takes the other side when I talk about stuff (if I say 'I don't like this road, it's too bendy', she'll say 'I like it, I like bends'. Stuff like that, and worse, all the time.) She picks the most annoying things that the most annoying person does, and she does that thing all the time.
Any ideas?

I have tried talking to the school about it. Letting her receive natural consequences for being late. Having her loose a dollar from her earned allowance each time she is late. Changing her bed time; taking the amount of minutes she is late and having her go to bed that many minutes earlier. Loosing privileges, gaining privileges....................UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGG HELP!!!!!
