No, don't do it. Your baby isn't ready for cereal yet.
At six weeks old getting up once or twice during the night is normal. Just hang in there - it will get better!

NO! It's too soon sweetie. ;) My son Elijah is 6 weeks also ;) and here's what I did to get him to sleep longer. okay, how often does he eat, every 3-4 hrs? Then set him on a "flexible" schedule meaning, you can give or take 15 or 30 minutes. Starting in the morning's first feeding, like 5-8am, after you give baby their feeding, try to keep them awake for like lets say 15-20 min. Then nap. So the order should be Feeding/Waketime/Naptime.After the first feeding, you will wake your baby every 3 or 4 hrs depending on how long he usually gets up and do this every 3 hrs until the last bottle before bedtime. Now, at night, do not wake him. Let him wake up on his own. I have been doing this and my baby sleeps 7 hours. The key is not letting baby sleep too long in the day and eventually when baby's a little older, you can give an extra feeding in the day and drop those 2 feedings at night.

I have heard the opposite. Don't put rice cereal in your baby bottle. Your baby should still be getting up couple of times a night...I know its hard. He should be sleeping through the night by 4-6 months. My son is 8 month and once in awhile he awakes up in the middle of the night, mostly because his teeth are bothering him. Good luck

NO NO NO!!! He is WAY to young for cereal. Of course he is still going to wake up, he is still little!! It has been disproven NUMEROUS TIMES that cereal in a bottle will not make a baby sleep longer. Did you seriously think a 6 week old would sleep through the night???

please, please .please don't do that. Hes far too young. His digestive system can not handle rice cereal yet and you ll find that your only up more often with an irritable or unwell baby. Just be patient. My boy is 8 months old and still wakes in the night. I think its only normal for such a young baby. He will sleep through when hes ready but probably not till about 12 weeks or so. He still needs to be fed 3-4 hourly at his age unless he is the exception rather than the norm.

wait a minute..you did say that you baby is ONLY 6 weeks old and is still waking up once or twice a night for a feeding..come on! Did you think that it would sleep all night immediately? Maybe by a year start to ponder why they might be waking up at night...but then again that's not a big deal either. They are babies, they are hungry and they need to be fed

a baby will not sleep the full night at 6 weeks and no you don't feed him or her that at 6 weeks wait until at least 3 months and yes it does work.. but if you give the baby it now it will just cause more problems and the baby will stay up all night with an upset tummy.. try feeding him or her a little more formula and wrap the baby up tight in a blanket

you shouldn't put anything but formula or breast milk in your baby's bottle. it could cause him to choke. my son is 4 months old and still wakes up at least once during the night because he's hungry. cereal isn't going to make him sleep through the night. my son was still waking up at least 3-4 times in the night when he was 6 weeks old. kids grow up fast, don't make them grow up faster than they are suppose to.

you shouldnt put them on any solids until 4-6 months, then start out slowly.
I must be lucky, from about 5-6 weeks my girl started sleeping from 9pm to 5am without waking.. she is now nearly 10 weeks old and is still doing this. Just depends on the baby.
