Hi Hon..

I had three c-sections..The first, like yours, was an emergency C-section..
I was told that with a spinal block, the only thing that hurts is the injection..
To be honest with you, I have very little tolerance for pain..So I opted to be asleep with my next two Sections..at which time my tubes were tied, with my last one....
Congratulations and Good Luck Hon!

I have 3 kids all born by c-section...the last 2 were planned c's. My very fist epidural(I've had 6 in all) hurt the most, probally cause I was scared and didn't know what to expect. After that I knew what was going on and they didn't hurt, but for the first second when they give you the numbing shot, and even then it wasn't as bad as a bee sting. Just remember to relax and take a deep breath.

ok...i jus had a planned c section almost 2 months ago....it is not bad at all.....i actually had a wonderful experience...i was scheduled @ 12:45 on a thurs.....well my daughter had other plans......i went into labor wed. night...lol...they ended up waiting until the appt tho....so i went thru a good 10 hrs of labor...BUT when i got the epidural (not sure if thts wat ur gettin...idk if spinal is diff) i wasnt having contractions....so there was nothing to take my mind off it and honestly.....it was painless...all i felt was 3 teeny weeny pin pricks tht numbed the area then very lil pressure in the injection site....it did not hurt at all....i can remember being scared of the epidural and comin of this site and lookin for other ppl's stories to see their experiences....but now i can tell mine...and dont worry its not bad....i cant tell u not to be nervous cuz ur going to be anyway but try to be as calm as u can....its very very very quick easy and painles....
hope i helped!:-)

Hi, I had the exact same situation as you. I've got 3 kids. The last baby was a planned c-section too. It went so well. Recovery was a lot easier on me too. You'll be just fine! Congratulations.

my sis had 2, its not so bad. the spinal hurts a little, but no more than any injection. they numb the area first so you don't feel the bigger needle. Its the recovery that sucks, but you already know what to expect there. Good luck!!

i had an emergency c-section with my son, i had a spinal... i wouldnt say that it hurt, it just feels like alot of pressure in your spine... nothing to be 2 nervous about at all.. it's done in no time! they numb around where they insert it in your back so your not dying in pain! it just sounds alot worse than it really is.

Yes, it does hurt, pretty badly. For me they tried twice then finally had to put me under. I had some other problems so maybe that had something to do with it, so don't worry.
