This is a medical question and debate which some of my coworkers and I are debating. We recently found out that one of my friends was trying to have a baby for a few years and was unsuccesful. She recently found out that she was not ovulating. Which kind of confused us. the question is it possible to have a Monthly period eventhought you are not ovulating? And if you are not ovulating then why have a period. If the point of having a period is too relase the unfertilize egg right? If any one else has better information regarding this topic can you please let me know.

I have been feeling horrible the last week. I have light cramping every once in a while, headaches, im nausceous every morning. I have been getting dizzy and light headed, my lower stomach is bloated and hard. I have taken 2 tests and both are negative. I got my period this month and last month but neither was normal. Last month it was lighter then usual but still there and lasted 5 days. Thsi month it seemed normal and lasted 6 days. I want a baby more than anything could i really be pregnant? Has anyone gone through this?

I am 20 years old and have been on birth control for years (about 8 years). This past month my insurance was dropped and I didn't want to pay $40 for the meds - so I didn't. Well... here it is. I'm about two days late and I've ALWAYS been very regular. I am sexually active and haven't been using condoms ALL the time. The times we don't, however; he always pulls out. I know this isn't the most reliable form of birth control, but what are the chances? Should I be freaking out already?
I've always heard that when you are, you will know. Well, it wasn't an issue for me but my usually calm and collected boyfriend has been going crazy. He says he can just feel it. That for the past 5-6 days he feels something different. Is it just his nerves or have you ever heard of that? I told him that Friday I would take a test but to calm down and nothing is calming his nerves. Should his nervousness cause me to be nervous? Thanks y'all!

I am not big on processed meats, so I was hesitant to give my daughter a hot dog. She LOVED it! She has eaten about 3 in the past 4 months. Is it okay to give an 18 month old a hot dog because of all the nitrates? I feel guilty letting her eat that garbage, but figure that one a month won't kill her.

I don't want to be the too busy mom who warms up mac and cheese or spaghetti O's for her little one. I want him to have healthy meals to set him up to make healthy decisions later on. I'm just running out of ideas for him. He won't be one until September, but he already is through with me spoon feeding him. Also, I'm so used to watching how much he eats by reading the ounces posted on the side of the baby food jar. How do you know how much food to give a pre-toddler?

Q1:Are there every any signs that the baby might come early? My mom had 4 girls all preme, so I think I might have my little girl early! Q2: Wen your uterus grows, what happends to your insides, do they just all move up under your rib cage? (by insides I mean your liver, kidneys, stomach, intestines, etc.)? Q3: Is it possible for the baby to kick your stomach (inside were your food is being processed) so hard that they make you puke? Just curious, was laying awake unable to sleep and was thinking about it! I noticed last night one of my son's bottle smells AWFUL! I washed it twice and let it soak before a third washing, but the smell is still there. I think I heard once before of someone using a bleach/water mix to get rid of odors, but I can't find anything to support that. Can I do that or is there some other way of getting odors out? Any help is appreciated.

I'm currently a SAHM (going back to grad school in February). For the past few weeks I've been feeling pretty low and can't pinpoint the reason(s). By the time my husband comes home from work, I am dying to get out of the house. Sometimes I find myself at the supermarket or video store at 10pm just to get a change of scenery. I want to gget birth control pills. And i went to planned parenthood to get some but i need to pay for like a prescription and all those stuff. I havent lived in the us for 5 years so im not elligible for the free ones.. My friend she was gonna give me a month of prescription coz she was gonna take "shots" im not sure what she is talking about shots..anyone know what she is talking about? i am going to work for 3 hours. My son is 2 months old and totally breastfed. What formula is most likely going to be more what he is used to. My milk doesn't express very easily and this is only occassional, so I am going to buy some formula. Also, should I buy nipples with the little holes or the big ones?

I'm having an ultrasound between 20-22 weeks (the beginning of October) to find out if we're having a girl or a boy. I heard I should drink something like oj or eat something with sugar in it to get the baby moving before this ultrasound so he/she isn't sleeping and hiding his/her parts. Do you think this is true?

Im 26weeks along...my baby for the past few weeks has been an off an on mover throughout the day. But everynight around 11:30pm to midnight has always kicked and flipped around. Throughout the night off and on as well.
Last night it didn't. I actually slept very well last night and it's because the baby didn't move at all. It's 2pm now, the baby hasn't moved since earlier yesterday...should I be nervous or give it till tomorrow or tonight?

I'm 16 and about 5 weeks ago my boyfriend and I had sex (protected) but I'm worried I might be pregnant: Here are my 'symptoms' :


I'm late for my period
My stomach (down by my ovaries) is hurting
I've been feeling like I'm going to throw up. (I threw up this morning)
My boobs have been really hurting.
I've been having temperature flashes (going from hot to cold and vice versa)
I feel like I have to pee a lot more than usual.
Craving a lot of food (Chicken, Burgers, a lot of meat)
Headaches

I know I should take a pregnancy test, but I'm so scared. Like I said, I'm 16, I don't know what I'm going to do if it says I'm pregnant. I haven't told my mom about any of this, please help in any way you can!!

I have a 1 & 2 year old and also run a full-time infant daycare out of my house. I realize that I picked a hard job but I did it so that I could be home with my kids and still help support our family. As you know running a daycare takes lots of work. I am constanly cleaning all day. My last child leaves at 5:45pm and my husband gets home @ 6. The house is usually a mess which I will leave unitl my kids go to sleep so I have some time with my family. But whenever I ask my husband to help me clean he starts an argument or starts saying this to me like " looks like you didn't clean anything today why should I have too" or or "I work all day ". I usually end up having to do it all on my own. I have tried everything, we have slept in seperate rooms for a month now because every night ends in a fight over cleaning. We can't afford a cleaning lady every night. The mess is not just from my work it's actually mostly from our kids. I need his help and do not think it is fair he dosen't have to

Maybe it's just me..but I am pretty laid back when it comes to parenting. I set rules and limits but alot of moms on here seem very "old fashioned" in their ways. It just seems not too many people have a sense of humor and let the weirdest things bother them. Is it just me?

I have tried putting her on the toilet every 15 or 20 minutes for about 10 minutes. After she gets up she goes in her pull-ups or underwear a little later. I have tried rewards, taking things away, even leaving her in her diaper for some time. None of this has worked. I know she is a little behind in her talking but does that effect potty training? I do not want to spank her for something that is perfectly normal. She was starting to potty train when she was in daycare for a short time but stopped after I had to take her out. Does anyone have any ideas that I may not have tried yet?

Well, the tests show positive, so don't tell me to take a test, but here is the problem: I had my last period July 28th. I had sex on Aug. 3rd and Aug. 8th. After that, I had some bleeding (only spotting). I had a pregnancy HCG test, it showed positive but only 150 u/l. My doctor said I might have been pregnant since before my period and miscarried, and I repeated the test after a few days, and it was 125 u/l, so he said this confirmed the miscarriage version (because the hormone decreased). Today I had a test and it showed 265 u/l. It is increased, but still quite low, especially after 10 days of being 150. So my question is: has this ever happened to you? Do you know what the HCG level should be before being late? Could the HCG have risen after a miscarriage? Please answer only if you are a med. professional or have had a similar case.

So my 17mo. son is in a real bed, not a crib. Usually he stays in bed and goes to sleep for the night or takes a nap. Right now though I've had to put him back in bed about 4-5 times for a nap and he won't stay. All I say is "take a nap" when I put him back. Should I keep doing that untill he gives up or just ignore him. His room is safe.
