1] blow up baby and toddler pics of the mom and dad for the walls
2] tie balloons to bottles of baby bath, lotion, shampoo, powder - great centerpieces! Make the balloons the nursery colors
3] get baby confetti to sprinkle on the tables
4] streamers [ crepe paper? ] same colors as nursery
5] use rattles, toys, or smaller gifts as decor too
6] decorate the 'mom' chair in streamers, too - especially if its a present!
7] tiny candle gifts as favors [ or baby shaped chocolates, etc. ]

Get some little strollers or soothers that sort of expand like an accordian, get a banner that says Baby Shower or It's a Girl/Boy make it a bit more personal by making a poster with you and your belly perhaps an ultrasound pic that says congratulations...Maybe just go out to a party store and go crazy they have so many things you can use
Congrats BTW and I hope ou have a wonderful Baby Shower!

those rolls of crepe paper get 2 different colors and then roll them both out at the same time together so they intwine its cute. Also you could make centerpieces for the tables. Which could be shoeboxes dressed up so ppl can place the cards in them. Or go to a dollor store and get cute pink and blue flowers depending on the sex of the baby or a tray of cute cupcakes on each table. Or some paper n pens so ppl can write little notes. Get baby confettie and sprinkle on tables.

How about a large diaper cake centerpiece? They really form the focal point you need, and they are totally practical because the mom-to-be can use all the diapers. Have a look:
