Pregnancy & Parenting - 14 July 2007

I've decided to have an abortion and the appt is Tues afternoon. I'm 6 weeks along. Father is in jail for next 3-5 years for robbery. I'm 33 and have 2 other kids. I have no medical insurance, I have no family to help me, I have a good job, but finding child care for the long hours I work is next to impossible. I work 2 days a week, but 14 hour days. I make around $35K, so I probably would make too much for any gov assistance. Please tell me I'm making the right decision to abort in this case. Am I going to have guilt for years??? Adopting this baby out is not an option. Serious answers only, no judgement, I loved the man I did not know he was a criminal.

My 17 month old son has been going through this fase of screaming at the top of his lungs in a high picht scream. He does it so much that he makes himself choke. Now we have done EVERYTHING to make sure we have taken care of what ever MIGHT be causing him to scream. Then we do a little tap on the mouth, then a tap on the tushy. All the time telling him no its not what we do here. Ok im at the melting point now. I can not take much more of him doing this. We have tried so much with him and nothing works. Ive even let him scream till he fell asleep and he still does it. I know its a fase and when he can finally talk it will stop. But, what do I do untill then. I am going to loose my mind and my hearing.

For example if you do not allow your child to drink soda do you tell relatives, neighbors, and friends not to give them any? Or if you take away their video game system do you tell their friends parents to let you play. Or do you tell their teacher not to let them do something because they are grounded at home.

I say this because on of my sons friend’s mom told us not to let her son play video games because she does not like them. She also said not to give her child sweets or soda.

I have a 1yr old son and Im also 28weeks pregnant and as bad as I want to start working I do NOT like the idea of putting my Son nor my next Baby in DayCare until they are old enough to tell me things that go on there. I have seen so much in the past year about how Kids are left in Cars turned off for hours, Babies being Shaken, Locking Kids in Closets, and I read a little boy got duct taped around his mouth because he wouldnt stop crying and they found him dead from suffocation. This all happened in care of Baby sitters and DayCares.

So, Do you think Im freaking over nothing?
Also, What is everyones Opinions about DayCares?

Please no insluting about others opinions...

Im having a problem with my 3 year old son. He pees in the toilet with no problem. He tells me when he has to go and rarely has an accident. Going number 2 is the problem. If I put underpants on him he won't do number 2 in them but he will hold it for days. I will try to coax him into going on the toilet but he won't. I don't mind if he has an accident but he won't, he holds it. Today was the longest he went, 5 days, I put a diaper on him and he went in the diaper. Im scared he is going to give himself a bowel obstruction or something. I dont want to keep diapers on him and have him revert back to square one. Anyone have this happen? Any suggestions?

I have tried everything to the prenatal vitamins that my obstetrician's medical asst prescribed for me to iced tea with lemon and saltine crackers and nothing helps to ease it. My husband and I have a 2-year-old son and I have been wanting a 2nd child for a while, but my husband isn't ready. My husband has only 4 classes left until he completes his Masters degree and that is my husband's wish is to finish his Masters degree before having a 2nd child. That means another year or more of waiting for a 2nd child and it has made me very sad and angry at him. I am a stay-at-home mom and want my son to have a sibling close in age. My husband has promised me that we could start getting pregnant this Fall or Winter and then changed his mind to next summer without any reason. I got my hopes up and thought it was a compromise and then let down again. Now he says not next summer to start trying to get pregnant, but Spring. I feel emotionally jerked around. What should I do? Should I just wait another year or more and be happy with my son?

Ok I went for my fifteen week scan today and found out its a girl. Instantly I was dissapointed because i'd set my heart on having a boy. This is my first so I really shouldnt care either way except to be grateful that I can conceive and have a healthy baby! I feel ashamed and guilty because I wanted a child so badly and now to nit pick over the gender seems bad when there are so many women who'd love to have a child regardless. I dont know how to deal with this dissapointment and how to carry on...I've cried and felt the loss of a son I was eagerly expecting. I wanted to give my husband a son so badly... I guess if the feelings persist I would see a counsellor because i dont want my pretty girl to face problems because her mama had silly expectations. I wish I could be a 100 percent happy over this. I've lost interest in shopping, thinking of names! this is sad and I feel so guilty too... anyone else like this??
