You can ALWAYS do stuff at home. Go the the grocery store and get a cake mix and make your own icing at home. You need butter, shortening and confectioners sugar. If you have cake decorating stuff (I'm sure SOMEONE you know does) either have them decorate it for you, come help or do it on your own. Get a pkg. of ballons (50 cents) and a roll of ribbon and blow up and tie up ballons everywhere. Get a 1.00 tablecloth to put on the table and tape some ballons on the cloth for a centerpiece. Get some hot dogs and buns and have hot dogs, cake and ice cream. Does your son have a bat and baseball? I'm sure he's got some toys you can do for games. Have a radio on and play musical chairs or something. Total cost-should be no more than 25 bucks. Good luck and have a great party!

Michelle, you dont have to have a lot of money to make this special for your 3 year old. Even if its just mommy and daddy there, he is only 3. You can make his cake for him. and 1 or 2 presents should be enough. Worry about their B-days when they get older and really want to have it a certain way.(Mine are 10 and 14, both boys) He will just enjoy the gifts wrapped in a nice way and a cake that is all lit up for him. That will be plenty special for a toddler.Hope this helps Good Luck

My daughter turned 3 this year and has never had a "party." We're waiting until she's old enough to understand and have real friends she can invite. If family and friends are going to be in town or some other reason you really need to pull something together, try a preschool potluck. Ask everyone to bring their favorite little kid dish (mac n cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets) and have a nice party in your yard or at a nearby park. Seriously, at 3, your kid will just be happy to be around others.

Go to the $ store for favors, paper plates, decorations, etc. My husband was laid off from his job and our son will be 3 early next month also. I found a really cute train birthday banner at the Dollar Tree. I am also making my son a train cake. I am making 3 pound cakes (From scratch...much cheaper) and getting licorice wheels and making him a train cake.

I don't know if there are any available in your area, but my friend's daughter rented a whole slew of character costumes and had us wear them and switch them out. Her son was only 1, so I thought it was a waste, but at 3 it would be fun. It only cost her 100 for them all(Spongebob, strawberry shortcake, dora, and about 6 others) The adults had a blast and so did all the kids. Then she just had the cake and usual stuff, and we were all the entertainment the kids needed lol. Good luck!

What is your son into??? Does he like sea animals....think of theme and then have an outdoor party...have a kiddie pool full of water and sprinklers....have an under the sea theme...Buy some cheap water toys like fish and squirt guns. Give out small packages of gold fish crackers and a bath toy for a special treat....make a cake with blue frosting...decorate it with some clean sea shells.....

There is alot you can do on a small budget!!

Nothing wrong with making it pot luck. Besides all you need is cake and icecream. I wouldnt go out of my way buying plates and fancy silverwear thats got cartoon characters on them. Kids at that age dont really care about that stuff anyways. Its all about the toys to them.

i think of its a super theory. you may desire to start him the habit early. My infants be responsive to in the event that they prefer to holiday their motorcycles they could desire to placed on a helmet, its no longer an option or a call. you may desire to be responsive to besides the undeniable fact that, that an improperly setting up helmet is basically as risky, if not extra risky than no longer donning one. They make toddler helmets, sure they may be slightly extra high priced, yet super head injuries are high priced too. Take him to a actual motorcycle save and have him outfitted for one, although in case you do no longer purchase one, you have got a solid theory of ways the helmet could desire to in high-quality condition him, and what length could paintings for him.

my cousin just turned 3. They had a "sprinkler party". They also had sandboxes filled up with toys and buckets that they picked up at the dollar store.
