Pregnancy & Parenting - 10 July 2007

So i already have 4 children. Christian Patrick(8), Jordan Paige(7), twins McKenna Christine and Ashton Nikolas(4). And now im on my way to having another set of twins.(they run in the family). Its going to be a girl and a boy. I have ideas for names but i cant choose.

boys names: Brody Gage, Eric Preston, or Peyton Bryce
girls names: Kendall Brooke, Savannah Grace, or Ava Jo

which one do you like best? if you would like, switch the names around if you think they would sound better!

My son is 9 months old. He was nursed and then switched to a playtex drop- in's wide nipple nurser.
I have tried a few different sippy cups and my son has a hard time learning to suck on the hard plastic. An associate at BabiesRus told me to use the Nuby sippy cup that starts out with a nipple and then can be switched to a softer plastic sippy cup spout. My son is having a hard time even learning to suck off the Nuby nipple because its not like his fomula bottle nipples. Do i just need to keep at it, and in a few days will he get it, or should I try something else? Thanks!

p.s. if i stick his nurser nipple into the Nuby cup he will suck..but i dont want him to confuse the two...so I know its not the cup itself that he doesn't like.

My son originally wanted his room in monster trucks. now he wants monster trucks AND sports. (and he mentioned race cars, too) We were looking at bean bag chairs and he saw the cute baseball and basket ball ones now he says he wants (and I quote) "monster trucks, race cars, basketballs, baseballs, footballs, ya know-all the cool stuff."
How can I put it all together and look good? Or should I persuade him to stick with one theme? He is pretty easy going so he would probably be ok with that, but I want him to help me come up with the ideas ....

I have always been close to my parents and they like my husband. I'm pregnant, and it's a little boy; I want to name him Saddam Hussein Davidson (with Davidson being the surname). My husband says it's not his favorite name but he'll go along with it to make me happy, but my parents said if I name my child Saddam Hussein they will disown me...but despite the former Iraqi president, Saddam Hussein is the only thing I want to name my child. What should I do?

Hi. This women and her daughter (the same age as my daughter - 7) live in my development. Our girls go to school together (not in the same class). They are really not friends. We see them at the pool sometimes. I did invite them over about 2 years when I first met them - it was horrible. The little girl is very fresh - she kept telling her mom to shut up and said "whatever" to her about 100 times. After they left I said never again.
Anyway I got an email about a month ago from the mom - it said "Ashley's birthday is next Saturday and I'm going to take them to the movies". I asked my daughter (Jessica) if she wanted to go and she said no.So I emailed the mom back and said my daughter wasn't going to be around - but have fun and tell Ashley we said happy birthday. I got another email the next day and it said "well it's only going to be Ashley and Jessica - so whatever day is good for you guys - just let me know". Do I force my daughter to go or just keep making up excuses?

Is it okay for a 9 year old girl to still use diaper wipes, watch Treehouse on television, and to still have accidents? I know this is a weird question but I am very worried about my cousin! What do you think?

That's what happened today. A child was left after an outdoor class for 25 minutes after the end of class. The child was afraid of thunderstorms and her e mm wasn't there on time.. After that, a mom left 2 children for a class during a thunderstorm after reading the handout yesterday that states, class is canceled during thunderstorm and you must immediately pick up your child. I

I just can't imagine what could possibly have gone through their minds. Yes, bad weather can hold you up, but 25 minutes after class has ended and your child is afraid of storms and has been standing out in one for the last half hour? The second parent expected a private art class since her children were the only students to show. I explained i was a metal gazebo and that I don't want to be outside in this weather and that class is automatically canceled at lightening. Why risk your children's lives a(and mine) to have class!

OK, I know some of you are probably going to say I have too much time on my hands, get a life, etc. etc. BUT. I desperately want another baby and my husband doesn't. We have talked about it at length and have come to an agreement. Instead of having real babies, I am collecting reborn dolls. In case you're not familiar with them they are dolls that look extremely real. You buy real baby clothes for them and everything, which is the most fun part.
