Personally, I have planned to name our baby girl (if we have a girl) Ashley. Both my husband and I like that name. We may change our minds because it seems to be gaining in popularity . . . something to think about.

Gender: Both

Meaning: Ash wood

Origin: English
Additional Info: A place name and surname from the Old English words 'æsc' (ash) and 'leah' (wood). This name transferred from surname to male first name but in recent decades has become increasingly popular for girls.

Michelle is classic (my middle name is Michelle, and I've known many really nice girls named Michelle. It also has the benifit of a Beattles song - fun!!

Origin:
Meaning: Hebrew
Who is like God?

Origin:
Meaning: French
French feminine form of Michel

Additional Info: French feminine form of Michel; variant of Michèle. The name is now also used extensively in the English-speaking world. It was popular in the 1970s and 1980s, possibly influenced by the famous Beattles song "Michelle".

I really like Isidore for its originality.

Meaning: Gift of Isis

Origin: Greek

I would suggest asking them if any of the names have a personal story behind them, sometimes being able to tell why the name was chosen is special. Especially when the child is old enough to enjoy the story.

Good luck!!!

I like Michelle the best because it's simple and pretty. Isidore is iffy and Ashley has been beaten into the ground recently by being the name of choice with new mothers.

None of them. Michelle and Ashley are too common and Isidore sounds like an old lady.
