My wonderful baby goes to sleep & wakes up crying. I cannot put him down for more than a few minutes or he will cry. My mother says to let him cry but I can't stand to hear my little man cry like that, he will cry endlessly if not picked up and hugged. He gets so upset that he is soaked with sweat and his bottom lip quivers! I can't stand to see his lip quiver... He is a very light sleeper and only sleeps for about an hour. I love holding and bonding with my baby but I also have to wash some laundry and take a shower every once in a while. Will this behavior end soon? Any suggestions? He is breastfed, eats well, and is healthy other than a little gas every once in a while.

Our almost three year old does not poop for 3-5 days and then poops (large ones) 3 times in 1-2 days. Is this normal? We give her milk of magnesium 2-3 times a week. We try as much as we can with the diet, fiber etc. Should we see a gastro specialist?

I am currently about 2 wks late with my period. I have taken 2 preg test both came up neg. My dr wanted me to wait until this weeek and then set up an app. so I called & maid one. I just noticed tonight that I have started to very lightly start spotting. I was wondering if I should still keep my app. or should I cancle? I am currently taking clomid to help me along so I don't know if he would like to see me because of that or what. I have only been on that for 2 months so this would be my 3rd.

My daughter is 14, and she has been asked out on her "first date". Now the rule I have set is no dating until 16, but am I being unreasonable? I have tried to compormise saying that he could come over to our house, where I could supervise and get to know him, etc. I know I'm the mom and I make the rules, etc. I just want to know if you think I'm being a little unreasonable about the whole "dating" situation. Thank you for your help.

I have a strong inborn drive telling me to be a mom, but my question is when? Its been on my mind since I was fourteen (Im 17) and I love the thought of a baby. Who can tell me what the ideal age is and if taking b.c. over years affects your ability to concieve?

for your kids?
My son recently turned 3. we had a dan zanes and freinds themed party where everyone was asked to wear some fun and loud clothes or funny hats. We made a paper mache curtains that led to the area where we provided pizza, cake and ice cream.
We also had a lcd projector ( loaned ) to show the dan zanes and friends fun dances on our living room wall so the kids could dance and stuff.

I overheard one of the parents from my sons class say omg I couldnt even imagine doing all this for my son.
I didnt even spend alot of money, we made most of the stuff ourselves.
So what do you do for your kids parties, im curious if we are the only ones who put a little effort and imagination into our childrens parties

I have been on the pill for almost a year...the last few months I have forgotten my pill a time or two. Last month I was sick and on antibiotics. I am 27 years old, and subconsiously I think I miss the pill on purpose because I want to get pregnant. Last Sunday was the start of my green pills...normally I bleed by Tuesday and it last until the start of the new pack. Last Tuesday I had very slight dark spotting only, not a full period. Monday I went to the doc and the pregnancy test was negative, but I am supposed to go to the doc again in 2 weeks to retest. I was certain being a week late was plenty of time for it to show on a test since most test can detect befoe your missed period. How likely is it that the first test was inaccurate? I still have not started my period, I have had cramps all week and I have felt sick to my stomache on and off, which I played off as nerves..any insight would be great!! Thanks!

Don't they know it causes tooth decay and can cause ear infections as well? Is it lazy parents who don't have the time to teach the children to put themselves to sleep without sucking something?

she is a bully I have 3 kids 7,2,and a 1 year old. and my daughter is very mean I don't know what to do I have tried everything. Today she peed in her diaper took it off and started walking towards the garbage can and then turned around and threw it at my face it was discusting and she thinks it is hilarious she is not scared of anything and is constantly beating on the other kids. I don't know what to do but I'm goin crazy .(I also have anxiety problems and panick attacks) she is a cutie but man she is a handfull if anyone has any tips on what to do or any suggestions on how to relax when she acts like that I would apreciate it greatly!! she goes to bed on time and takes 2 naps so I know that is not the problem and she doesn't drink caffeine or anything.

My family celbrates Christmas at my Grandmas EVERY YEAR....always have, well this year my grandma and my bf (boyfriend) and i have a little tiff. My boyfriend hasnt been working for a few months...while i have been working (he stays at home with the kids, like i did while he worked.) Granted the idea behind me working wastoo have two incomes but that didnt work out with the sacdules ad babysitting for the kids and such....well my grandma feels he should work a 3rd shift job at night, and i should work 1st or second shift. i wonder to myself how is suppost to sleep!? My grandma has decided that my BF cant come to the family christmas party christmas eve UNLESS he has a job by then. My question is should i go to the party alone with just my kids? My mom thinks i should let her take the kids to the party (in her words "at least let the kids go, they have nothing to do with this") I feel that OUR kids should spend the evening with us. what do you think?

I have heard the first baby boys look like their mothers and first baby girls look like their fathers.

I have also heard that first baby boys look like their mother's brothers and first baby girls look like their father's sisters.

Has anyone else heard this and how true is it?
