My OB told me genetics.. I was worried about having bald babies, my nephew was 3 before he had more than 4 hairs on his head. Bit both of my children had a thick head full of hair, my daughters hair was over 2 inches long, she was born preterm too! My OB nurse always says lots of heartburn brings lots of baby hair, but thats just a wives tale.

I think It has something to do with genetics. My baby has a full head of hair! Me and the father both have thick hair.

I agree. Genetics are the determining factor. I was born with a lot of hair and my son was also born with lots of long hair.

Some babies are just lucky I guess...lol...only thing that could affect the amount of hair a baby has is it's ethnic background...

Genetics. Usually Ethnic. Both my kids came out with full heads of hair. My 2nd daughter I could put pig tails from the day she was born. Neither my husband or myself are hairy but we both have very thick dark hair on our heads which my children obviously inherited. Both my nieces and my nephew were the same. There are also old wives tales that say if you have alot of heartburn, your baby will have alot of hair. Now I had tons of heartburn too, but I guess it depends on whether or not a person believes in wives tales. I don't, but its fun to play along.

the ones with no hair will never be able to land a decent job. you will always have to help support them and their kids.

Yes. It's genetic. For example, babies whose parents are hairy tend to be hairier, also certain ethnicities are hairier than others.
