very safe with todays technology. the baby has an excellent chance at survial, most likely without prolonged medical care. most doctors do prefer full term babies becuase immunities are passed from mother to baby within the last 2 weeks for a 40 week term. a baby with a 37 week gestation is almost normal these days. beware that the baby may have a low birth weigh, be a dark dusky red from lack of pigment, and may need some care as a preemie.

Yes, a baby is considered full-term at 37 weeks.

Most babies are born between 37 and 42 weeks, thats why due dates are at the 40 week mark. Its the average.

Yes - I believe anything under 36 weeks would be considered too "early" - but at 37 weeks a baby would be developed enough to survive outside of the mother. Still, the longer they can stay "in" until the due date - the better...That is, if there's no other problems.

My son was born in my 37th week and came out superb! He went home with me 48 hours later. He had moderate Jaundice but it surely was once taken away through just sitting with him infront of the window within the sun. 37 weeks is satisfactory to have a baby for probably the most part.

Yes, that is in the frame of what they consider "full-term". My youngest was born at 36 week and weighed almost 7 lbs and my second was born at 37 and weighed almost 8 lbs.

yes a baby is considered full term at 37-40 weeks they just make you go to 40 in case they were wrong about the due date they don't want to be wrong and have a preemie a baby is healthy if it is a least 6 lbs. the hospital i had my baby at i asked them what was the smallest baby born there that survived to have a normal life they told me 1 lb so I'm sure your baby is bigger than that. good luck try not to worry she is OK, but if you want to help her try to get her to have the epidural it really dose help.

37 weeks is full term...so yes it is safe...but it doesn't hurt to let them "bake" for a few more weeks...A doctor can better tell you if your baby is ready to enter the world at 37 weeks.... I am 37 weeks and 1 day along now...and I get to find out an esimated of what week my baby will come...But, anyway...good luck!!!

Yes a baby is fully developed by the 36th week. Most doctors like to wait until at least 38 weeks just to be safe, but everything should be okay.
