My best friend has been trying to get pregnant for several years now. Due to a endomitriosus, she has not been sucsessfull. She would be a great mom but is running out of time. Invitro costs about $8000.00 in our area and they just don't have it. I want to help so she at least has a shot but, I don't have it either. Has anyone ever done any kind of fundraising or anything for a similar situation? Please help! I need some ideas.

Whats a mother to do or say to her 17 yr. old son who's girlfriend has broke up with him for the 4th time in 3mos. I listened and supported him as he expressed how hurt and pissed he was at her, saying that he'll never go out with her again. Now he says they're friends and that he loves her and doesn't know whats going to happen. ( brokeup and then friends in 2 days) AARGH! It is so hard to stand back and watch my son become a doormat . I try not to impress my opinion on him because this is his business and learning experience. Do I just not say anything to him about her playing him for a fool ?

THERE WAS THIS COMMENT
~ Pregnant women try not to eat foods with strong smells (like garlic, onions, etc), to avoid nausea. Apart from this comment, I also read that they stimulate the uterus! Do you think this harms the fetus?
Do you think I should not eat them? Did you used to eat them when pregnant ?

okay... i was seriously cutting an APPLE, and it slipped and i cut my arm by mistake.
my mom thinks i was cutting MYSELF purposely, and now she doesnt trust me anymore, like when i say i have done my homework, she has 2 go check, and most of the time i have to REDO it because its not PERFECT, but its HOMEWORK, ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE PERFECT. but try telling that to her. anyways, she thinks im cutting myslef and IM NOT. is there anyway make it sound truthfull instead of just a good excuse????

I know another mom that has a new baby 1 mo younger than mine. I love having him over to play with my daughter but I have a hard time understanding the mom. If my daughter learns how to do anything that her son has not yet mastered she makes rude comments, compares the 2 children & just kinda ruins the excitement of their development for me. To me she is making it into a contest rather than appreciating each child for what their good at.
Are lots of Mom's this way? What is the reason for this behavior and how should I handle it?

If you smoke or drink while pregnant, you should feel guilty, because this can affect your baby's health.
But it is also well known that bottlefeeding affects your babys health too, increase of infections and diseases, no antibodies from the mother, and lower cognitive and sensory development COMPARED to breastfeeding. These are facts shown by scientific studies and yet health professionals say women shouldn't be made to feel guilty for choosing ot to breastfeed. Why not?
Choosing not to breastfeed is choosing to give your baby second best. Why is that ok? There really shouldn't be a choice it should be breastfeed and if you are phsyically incapable to do so then you can have formula prescribed.
Why is it so easy for mothers to just say whatever, It doesnt matter? Actually the same goes for those mums who choose to sit in mcdonalds and buy their kids sweets and artificial flavoured drinks and food. Why would people want to do this to their children?

My oldest child is 7 years old. Until about a month ago she was a hyper active child, always on the go. Now it seems that she doesnt want to go to school or anywhere. She is screaming and yelling and upset all the time. Nothing in our house has changed in any way. She seems to have either anxiety or be depressed. i am not sure what to do about it. The doctors arent any help they jsut told me to let her sleep more. Any one know what to do about this, i really dont want her on medication but maybe something safe and herbal that might help.

I am TTC and thought for sure I was pregnant this month (cramping, fuller boobs, twinges, tired etc.) My period is due today 12-11-06 and last Tuesday 12-05-06 I had light brown spotting (hoping it was implantation bleeding) which I never experienced before. It lasted until yesterday and this morning it got heavier. I think it is now my period. Anybody else ever experienced that? How big are the chances that I am pregnant. Had a BFN on Saturday.

My son is 5mths old and im finding hard work compared to my 7 yr old daughter. People say i spoilt him when he was small but he was easier as a baby now hes getting harder. Hel scream if you put him down but he'l stop if you pick him up so hes not in pain. Ive tryed letting him cry but i dont think he learns anything from it. He wakes a good bit in the night to hel go back to slleep when you give him his dummy but come 5 or 6 i usually have to put him beside me to get him back to sleep [bad habit I know] i never had to do any of this with my daughter, is there anything i can try? will he get easier?

He's a good kid, jr in high school. Plays on the JV basketball team, gets good grades, does his chores around the house. I live in a good neighbhood, not much crime or drugs. I've met mostly all his friends, and they all athelics. But he wants to come in the house, on school nights at 11:30. Should I keep him at 10-10:30?...he just turned 16 in November, and he has a cell phone.....HELP!! I don't want to seem like a mean father, but I don't want him to fall victim of the streets.

Its been about a week since my ovulation test came back positive. Im not having any bleeding, but Im have a sense of "fluttering" like my muscles are jumping close to my right ovary. I was wondering if any one else had ever experienced this and if this could be a sign of implantation?

I'm genuinely curious and I'm not trying to criticize anyone's choices.

I admit I prefer traditional spellings. When I see fairly common names spelled creatively (Emmaleigh, Jaykob, Maddysyn, etc) I only see the problems and not any benefits. I think little Maddysyn is still going to have to be Maddysyn H in class to differentiate her from the 3 other Madisons. She will constantly have to spell her name for others. People who read her name on everything from essays to job applications may form unflattering and incorrect opinions about her intelligence or personality simply because her name is "misspelled."

Many parents love unique spellings, though, so I wonder if there's a benefit I just don't see. If you've chosen or plan to choose a non-traditional spelling for your child's name, I'd love to know why.

I'm 4 months pregnant and I suppose I 'm starting to show a little. The thing is, when I walk, I feel a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen...as if everything in there is too low. Not painful but uncomfortable. Sorry. That's the best way I can decribe it. Anyone had this feeling while pregnant?

I had one slight period last month and this month I am not late yet but I feel nauseated and tired all of the time. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm pregnant! Problem is, I haven't had sex w/ anybody that could get me pregnant! To add insult to injury, if I am pregnant it's my ex-boyfriends and since we have been broken up for a month, I wouldn't doubt it if he will make the claims the baby's not his!

Short of using the "when did you have your last period" thingee- how can you tell exactly how far you are along?
