My son just started school and he doesn't want a kiss or a hug when he gets out of our car. I need to know another way to show him that I love him and not embarass him. What can I do?

I am looking for a middle name that will work with first name Tobias and last name Johnson. I was thinking that a single syllabel name would work best, but now I am not so sure...all suggestions appreciated!!

This weekend we started to give our son baby food. He seems to love it but was wondering how often and how much to give him along with his bottle. Do I subsitute one feeding of a bottle with the food or do I give him both? How much of the jar do I give him at once? I know it all depends on the individual child but I just would like a guideline of where your child was at this point.

I don't know if it's just a boy thing or not, but is it normal for elementary boys to be fighting almost all the time (age range 9 - 12)? For example my son is 10 and has something new every other week at school. When I confronted the teacher's they always say stuff like, "It's nothing we can't handle".."Why?" Most of the time its start off as a joke to everyone involved, then it seems to get outta hand when someone gets hurt. They play so aggressively..for example, knocking the tarts out of each other's heads, or who can show off the most in the playground. If they're having a mental quiz challenge (sometimes girls are included, but most of the time it's the boys who end up getting off at each other physically). One time it was over a small issue, like who gets to sit next to who, and it was between my son and some kid over some girl. They eventually settled it in the playground, and the teachers had to pull them apart (I didn't even know kids this age even had the thing to set time and place for fights). My son ended up having bruises on his leg and the other kid a bleeding hand. The teacher told me and his parents that they both went at it together. Also why does violent seem like a joke to them as well. It's like one minute they're so upset, and another they're cool, then it starts all over again. It's starting to freak me out. After all I use to think that boys would only be violent if their male authority figures were, but his Dad, and grandpa isn't like that, so what's the deal? My husband keeps saying, they're just being boys, but c'mon...violence is never normal. So am I just been over-protectively paranoid or should I be concern? "GROWN MEN" out there "who were once boys"...what's going on here? Will they grow out of this, like my husband keeps saying, or should I get some help now?

This pain is not constant, it comes and go. When i touch the small area I can feel the pain more. It started two days ago below my belly button and it it is now on the left side. It is not very painful just slightly, more worrying than anything.

My best friend is 4 months pregnant. Her husband chose their first child's name, William Maurice. She gets to choose their second child's name. We have been brainstorming names for her baby and these are the ones she likes the best. I think some are odd so she decided she would like other opinions on the names.

I am nearly 11 weeks pregnant and have suffered quite badly with sickness and tiredness since I found out I was pregnant. Any way the past few days I have started to feel a little better. Evening sickness has begun to ease off although I still feel sick in the morning and was sick this morning. I am still tired but not quite as bad as a I was and people are commenting that I am starting to look a bit better. My breasts still feel a little tender. I am really concerned that all this means I have lost the baby. I heard that normally it is past 12 weeks that you start to feel better? Am I worrying too much?

I borrowed a crib from my sister and she is now pregnant (yippie!) so obviously I need to give her back the stuff she lent me. The only worry I have is about the crib. My daughter will be one year old when she delivers-she is 5 months now. Is she too young to go in a toddler bed? It seems a waste of money to get a crib if she will only sleep in it for a few months but I want my daughter safe.

So, should I...
1. get a new crib now and change her over?

2. keep her in her crib until my sister has her babe and then change her to a new crib?

3. keep her in her crib until my sister has her babe and then put her in a bed?

4.other?
