i'm 13 and that i babysit my 3 cousins once a weeks. The a lengthy time period are 5 a million/2, 3 a million/2, and a million a million/2 and they are gazing for yet another which i visit babysit also. I babysit all of them at one time at the same time as no one is abode. I somewhat have taken instructions, and that i'm qualified to finish CPR. i'm very responsible for a 13 12 months old, all and dissimilar tells me, and my aunt and uncle believe me. all and dissimilar is different, so that you settle on. Invite them over (no longer at the same time) and note how they do with your little ones. then you settle on.

i'm not sure if there's a "legal" age to start babysitting. i think it just depends on how mature a person is and how well they get along with your children. i was 10 when i started babysitting a little girl down the street from my house. at first i just went over to play with her or take her to the park and then her mom talked my mom into letting me babysit. my mom used to teach cpr, first aid, and babysitting courses so she dug out her old books and over a few weeks in the summer i took the courses. then i babysat all the time. when i was 18 i gave it up, but now a year later i'm thinking about babysitting again because it's easy money and i need some for college. but when you look for a babysitter just go with what feels comfortable. invite them over to play with the child while you do housework. every once in a while check in to see how well the babysitter gets along with your child and if your child seems to like them. then when you're ready to see if they can be there without you just invite them over so you can go to the grocery store or something for just a few hours. when you're really comfortable with them you can go out for longer days or have them babysit while you work. all it comes down to is what YOU are comfortable with, not what's "legal". i've never heard of a legal age around here.

Most states it's 12 or 13 with a babysitters/CPR course. I, on the other hand, wouldn't trust someone under 18 to watch my daughter. It's just the way that I am! Teens are so irresponsible these days!

It depends on your state's laws. Call your local social services office and ask. In Kansas, a minor child 13 years of age or older can baby-sit for minors that are not siblings. At 15 years of age, they can baby-sit for siblings.

In the state of Missouri I believe it's 12. Try calling your local City Hall and see if they can give you the information you need.
