Yes it's fine. People worry way too much about age in dating these days. According to my parents, 30 years ago nobody would even bother commenting on such a small age difference.

You may not want to hear this but NO. There is no way an 8th grade boy is ready to date a girl who is a sophmore in High school. When you are a Junior he will be a freshman and the difference will be too much. TO be honest an 8th grader should not be dating anyone.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Usually it's the other way around, a older boy dating a younger girl. I think 8th grade is a little bit of a stretch, but as long as you guys are happy, I don't see what the problem is. Just make sure the parents OK it too, because then problems could come up.

I'm in 8th grade and there is a boy in my class who is dating a 10th grader, you've probably heard the saying, Love knows no age. and i completely agree. heres your hypothetical answer: Go for it!
If you anready have then, congrats! and don't let the remarks get to you!

no because the maturity difference is really big, but i guess if it's an older 8th grader and a younger 10th grader then it's not that bad.

It's OK, but I don't see why you'd want to. "Mature" and "8th grader" don't exactly go together.

Pretend you're the 10th grader's mom, and ask the same question.

Then pretend you're the 8th grader's mom, and ask the same question.

Answer both questions honestly (no hormones or stars twinkling--you're pretending to be a mom, remember) and you'll have your answer. Good luck--

Just keep the "physical" stuff at bay and I don't see a problem. I was the older girl once when I was really young- and it was fine. He was extremely mature and we had loads in common.

In fact, I ended up marrying a man who is 3 years younger than I am ...LOL.

10th grade would make that girl 16 and him 14. Don't you think that's a little young to start out? I mean, it isn't THAT young, but the point of dating (or it should be) is to find a future mate and she has at least another 4 years to go until he's legal. I think she's going to fall into temptation sooner or later with him and then it'd be hard. So my advice is not to date until both involved are at least 16.

No 8th grade boy is ever mature enough for a 10th grade girl.

I guess. But I think kids that young should focus on school and not dating.
