I had one slight period last month and this month I am not late yet but I feel nauseated and tired all of the time. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm pregnant! Problem is, I haven't had sex w/ anybody that could get me pregnant! To add insult to injury, if I am pregnant it's my ex-boyfriends and since we have been broken up for a month, I wouldn't doubt it if he will make the claims the baby's not his!

Short of using the "when did you have your last period" thingee- how can you tell exactly how far you are along?

The only other way you'd be able to tell is to have a doctor do an ultrasound that will measure the size of everything. If you're early, they'll be able to measure the sac and give you a pretty good estimation. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

Hi there honey. I really don't know what to tell you. I do know that any doctor that you go to IS going to use the good old "first day of your last period" thing simply because that date is the only one that they can be sure of. Unfortunately that does not do you a great deal of good since it sounds to me like your "slight period" was not a period at all. You may have to count back to the period before that and count it as your last period. In your situation I think we need to ask, "When was the first day of your last NORMAL period". Then we might actually get somewhere.
I would not worry too much about your boyfriend. In this type of situation when the actual time of conception is being debated the doctor will undoubedly order an ultrasound to determine fetal age. That way you will be able to give your boyfriend actual proof of when the baby was conceived.
The fact that you may be experiencing morning sickness already makes me think that you are probably far enough along to show up on a home pregnancy test. I would go ahead and do the test if I were you. That way you will know.
As I always tell women, some doctors do not accept home tests as proof and they will insist for their records that you have a blood test. One good thing about this is that they are virtually 100% accurate and you will certainly know for sure. If money is an issue at all it makes sense to wait and have the test that the doctor is going to order rather than paying for two tests.
I really hope that you get the answer that you want!
Take care of yourself and feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.
Blessings,
Lady Trinity~

Ultrasound. Though the doctor will tell you give or take 5 days.
My 1st ultrasound indicated that I was 9.5 weeks when, according to my last period it indicated that I was 10.5 weeks. All my subsequent ultrasounds have stayed w/ the original ultrasound, so they moved it back a week and moved my due date from 2/11 to 2/19.

Go get an ultrasound. They can tell you within a couple of days when your baby was conceived. The sooner you go for the ultrasound, the more accurate they are, but before five weeks they probably won't see anything. When they tell you how many weeks you are, subtract 2 weeks and that's how many weeks ago you conceived.

if the last time you had sex was with your ex....work it 2 weeks before that...doctors count pregnancy weeks since the first day of your LMP (last menstrual period) so it means that you are 2 weeks pg already before getting pg...funny huh...it's just the way doctors keep count....if you are in fact pg don't worry about he is going to say about it...that's why courts, dna testing and child support are made for..............go buy a home pregancy test!! if it is positive go to a dr.
