My best friend has been trying to get pregnant for several years now. Due to a endomitriosus, she has not been sucsessfull. She would be a great mom but is running out of time. Invitro costs about $8000.00 in our area and they just don't have it. I want to help so she at least has a shot but, I don't have it either. Has anyone ever done any kind of fundraising or anything for a similar situation? Please help! I need some ideas.

I agree with getting the surgery to remove the problem first, is this an option for your friend? I know the insurance I have only pays a small portion of the surgery, but no part of fertility drugs, shots, ect. To raise money you could contact members of your church, if you attend, or ask for donations for your workplace. With a little bit of help from a lot a bit of people, I'm sure youcan make this happen.

Why won't her doctor do surgery to remove the endromitriosis? My husband's brother and his wife tried for 12 years and she had the surgery and they now have 2 kids. Insurance would cover the cost of the surgery.

When I went to Australia and then a few yrs later to Europe, I had to raise money to help pay... I sold candy bars and magazines door to door- asking everyone I could... it really helped! You could always try that, and also ask for donations.
