Pregnancy & Parenting - 21 November 2006

I am a little worried about my sixteen year old daughter. She watches cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants, Fairly Odd Parents and children-oriented shows like Drake and Josh and Lizzie McGuire. I am absolutely fine with that - I enjoy a classic cartoon every now and then myself. But that's ALL she watches! Her peers watch shows like Friends, The OC, Gilmore Girls, MTV, Sex and the City etc. But those shows bore her. After twenty minutes of giving a different show a try, she reverts back to watching Rugrats. I don't want to stifle her - but she is an only child, has no friends, has poor social skills and has very little interaction with people her age. Should I be concerned that she's 16 and ALL she watches are shows meant for the 12 and under group?

My bf and i made love one week after my period, exactly at the 14th day, where many says its the time of ovulation.... my period starts oct. 8 2006, we did it on the 21st. My period is irregular on days only. every month i have my period. what worries me is i am one month delayed. could i be pregnant? help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi..i am currently on avaine 28 (generic alesse) ive been on it for about 6 months now..this month i recieved what felt like my period while on my last week of active pills, so i went to my doctor where she told me to skip my placebos of this month and took a pregnancy test just to be sure, (came back negative) well im still bleeding lightly on and off..sometimes its brown but only there when i wipe..and sometimes its just light pink..could i be bleeding bc i skipped my placebos? any ideas?

I am 6 weeks pregnant and i just feel so sick, i just lay on the couch, I don't get hungry, and i just want to pull my hair out and cry. this will be my 3rd baby and i never felt this way before, IS THIS NORMAL? Oh i also don't want to get ready for anything, my hair is mest up and i wear pj's all day. My sister even say's it's not like me. AM I OK? Thanks, i guess every pregnancy is different huhh.. =)

My best friend and her husband have been married for 6 years. They have one son who is 1 1/2 and are expecting another baby in about 2 months. They also had a daughter who passed away when she was only 3. Before they got married, her husband(We'll call him Brian) had been divorced for a year from a woman he also has a son with who is now 11. Although he left her all his money so that he could start completely over with my best friend, his former friends who are mutually friends with his ex-wife insist that he leave my best friend and their growing family, come back to where he used to live, and try to make things right with his ex. I think this is INSANE!! I keep trying to give my friend advice but she just keeps stressing about the guys(not her husband who is trying to convince her that hes not going anywhere), which is NOT healthy for her or the baby. What should I tell her?

for people that got stretch marks while pregnant...did you use bio-oil or mederma?? which one is better so the scars fade?? and did losing weight help reduce the appearance of stretch marks??

When you have a baby as young as two months; you tend to explore every part of them. Well when i was kissing my baby's feet i noticed they stunk! I bath him every other day and its not like hes running around with shoes on and sweating. I was wondering if anyone else noticed if their babies had stinky feet. I know this is a weird question but i'm just curious!

In the last week, I've had no less than 5 guys show their "appreciation" of me, be it whistling or openly flirting.

For example, I went to register my car the other day, and the guy behind the desk was not at all shy, it was probably the most outrageous flirting i have ever experienced. He started saying stuff about me turning up everywhere topless, that the bouncers let me straight into all the nightclubs, and that I'd have to come back Tuesday because they didn't do new registrations on Mondays (he was joking)

I don't consider myself to be exceptionally pretty or attractive or anything (my husband disagrees, but i honestly can't see it) I'm actually rather short, with crappy brown hair, and a little bit chubby from the last pregnancy. I have bad teeth, though i have seen worse, much worse.

So what is it about a pregnant woman that's such a turn-on for (some) men?????

last week when I had to go to the doctor w/ my mom, b/c blood tests showed something wrong with my liver (im fine now) So the doctor is asking me questions about my lifestyle to try & pin-point what was causing my liver issue, so finally he asks me if im sexually active,& I froze! My mom didnt know I was sexually active& I dont think she agrees w/ premarital sex ingeneral. So shes looking@ me like "please answer no", so i finally turn to her& say "yes mom, i AM sexually active" (i have a boyfriend) & returned to the Dr.s questions.

When we got home, my mom got all mad, telling me im too young to have sex (im 19), &that I could get pregnant (im on birthcontrol). Then she asked me WHY I have sex, i didnt have an answer. I care about my boyfriend, he cares about me& it feels good, but I want to say exacly that. I dont think my lack of a long meaningful answer reflects that I shouldnt have sex. I know shes gonna ask me again, how can I convey that she has no control over this!?

My 5 year old daughter is afraid of dog (big, little), cats and any animal, but mostly dogs. She will scream bloody murder and run crying in the house or want someone to hold her. You can see her shaking she is so terrified. To make matters worse we have to go to my husbands brothers house a few times a year for birthdays and Christmas and they have two fairly small dogs. EVERY year we go through the same thing- they put the dogs up for about thirty minutes then they let them out and all hell breaks loose. My daughter goes screaming and crying and stands on thier couch or my husband has to hold her. I think this is VERY rude of them. They invite us to thier house, shouldn't they have to keep the dog put up until we leave especially seeing how it affects our child? Please let me know if I am wrong. We just attended a birthday party there last weekend and I was so pissed off by the time we left that I am not even looking forward to going for Christmas.

Do you think if a woman doesn't want to or is too lazy to get prenatal care is neglect. cuz my sister in law she's pregnant and is in no hurry to set up her appointment. with her first child she didn't go to the doctor till she was more than 7mo pregnant. Should it be neglect??
