Why not let him sit on the seat and do it, instead of standing up and aiming, until he is older enough to have more control.

The Target thing sounds great. I have a Hubby, 2 sons, 2 brothers and about 5 male cousins and I still have the clean the floor toilet and shower curtain all the time.

It may sound like a joke but put something in the toilet. Try putting a bandaid or piece of toilet paper and let it float in the water. Then tell him to "aim" at it. I read this thing that these urinal makers put a dead fly painting really small inside the urnials to make cleanup easier. I guess us guys just like to aim!

I'm guessing you have a boy? You can put Cheerios in the potty and have him aim for them. You might put puppy piddle pads around the toilet for the time being to save you a clean up. You may also just have to physically help him aim until he gets it right. Just reassure him that it's just taking practice.

This will sound weird but make a game of it put two or three cheerios in the pot and have him aim for them the more he hits the more points he gets my mom did this with my brothers and i reluctantly tried it with my own sons after a while they will grow tired of the game but will automatically hit the pot

They make little targets you can put in the toilet that are flushable. That is really effective. I also purchase lysol wipes and one of those disposable toilet scrubbers and my 5yr old will clean the potty if he makes a mess.

OH man! my #1 complaint. My husband also misses... I have to constantly go after him and wipe down the back and sides (and sometimes the floor) of the toilet.. otherwise it smells by the end of the day...

When my oldest brother was younger he had the hardest time aiming. What my mom did was put on of those Things that you put on the shower floor so you dont slip. She then told my brother that he had to hit the Shell, and it worked,

The toilet might be too high for him. Get him a little step-stool or something to get him up above the lid.

You can put a little cup of cheerios next to the toilet, have him throw one in and aim for it when he goes.

Most of these answes are right on "target". My 11yr old son & 36yr old husband both miss. I think we need to resign ourselves to the fact that this is the way the male gender is. I don't think that they do it on purpose though.
