without offending them. He and his wife are both doctors from Egypt, when they moved here his wife decided to stay home with their youngest daughter and wanted a playmate for her, they knew we were in need of reliable daycare and offered to help us out for 100 dollars a week. I went to visit with her last night and see their home, she was extremely nice, made us brownies and the most wonderful mango juice you could even imagine. But now.....

my fiances work is allowing him to switch up his schedule so that he can be home when I am at work and at work when i am home, which eliminates the need for daycare, and saves us 400 dollars a month. The problem is that i do not want to hurt this womens feelings or in anyway make her feel that it was her home or her tradition of wearing a veil that made us change our mind. She seemed very concerned that the veil would be a problem for us, do any of you have any suggestions on how to tell them in a way that doesn;t make them think badly of us?

II think my baby is sitting on a nerve and I'm in a lot of pain. What can i do to get him to move off of it. Its causing me pain on the top of my stomach and in my back. I've had it now for 2 months. The doctors have ruled out gallbladder problems and gastro-intestinal problems. Any advice?

We are leaving this evening for vacation we are going to Alabama and we currently reside in Pennsylvania it is about a 10-12 hour car drive and that is with stopping for food and potty breaks and such. We are leaving at midnight tonight and should be arriving sometime tomorrow in the early afternoon late morning depending on the traffic. my son sleeps through the night already and has done so since he was a young so I am kinda hoping that he will sleep for most of it. we rented a mini van and i will be back there with him for the entire length of the trip. Now my question is what should I pack for him for the ride down to make it as pleasant as I can for him.

Your opinions please:

Christina Aaliyah
Josephine Lucille
Jersey Mae
Maia (my-ya)Jean
or Myra Jean
Italie/Italy "Lee or Lee Lee"
Loraina Christine "Laina"
Alaina Danielle "Laina"
Nadia
Claudia Monet (Mo-nay)
(yes like the artist Claude Monet)

(If ever born in Dec.) Natalie
(means born on x-mas day)

I dont know if i would like Laina as a name by it self, sounds kinda incomplete.

mix and match. say what you like or dislike, what names you might use instead.

Thanks

My son is a little over 4 months, and he is drooling excessively, waking up frequently (though he's not fussing when he wakes) and he's had really watery stools for a day... I can't feel anything coming in, but could this be the beginning of teething? When did your kids begin to teethe? Just curious. Thanks!

I am always nervous about losing this baby. I worry all the time. When I get cramps and pains...I worry and constantly check to see if my discharge has changed. My question is...I read that you will pass clots. How do you know they are clots? I mean my discharge is sometimes clumpy and thick. I dont have any bleeding, but always have alot of discharge. It is white but does come out in clumps sometimes. How can you tell a difference between what is normal and what is not??

How do parents rationalize giving powerful mind altering drugs to young children just because they can't sit still in a classroom. How do parents take the word of stranger's observations to diagnose AHDD since their is no scientific or physical evidence of such a disorder?

My daughter is 5 yrs and 5 months old . I know she has all her milk teeth out but 2 days ago she had this slight fever that comes and go which I thought was caused by the weather ( we're changing from hot to cold weather ) and then she complained but not cried about her tooth hurting . It didn't seem like a real toothache coz she didn't really mind it . Then last night she fell asleep without brushing her teeth so I carried her and was going to brush her teeth when I saw teeth coming out one on both sides on her lower jaws . Is that permanent teeth ? Her milk teeth are all out so I figured that must be it . It's Friday night when I saw it so I still have to wait Monday to check with dental . She was really happy about it too ! Both teeth are half-way out and half is still under the gums which she saw .

I'm only 12 weeks but we have had our girl name picked out for a long time, but the boys name we are still deciding on. Here they are:
Colton Dean
Logan Dean
or
Hunter Dean

Dean is the middle name because it is my hubby's dad's middle name. Thanks for your opinions.
I can't wait until 20 weeks when we find out what we are having it is our first!♥

This might be a dumb question, but I really have no idea?! Does the hospital or someone help you do it? Or do you have to do that yourself? If so, how do you go about getting your newborn a SSN?

I was thinking about buying my son a potty around his first birthday. Every time my husband and I go to the restroom I wanted to make it a point to put him on his big boy potty so he gets a grasp on the whole potty ordeal.

I'm not 100% sure about it yet so realize this is just an idea.

I've had to potty train a four year old whose parents didn't want to train him while still in their care. It was a nightmare! I'm worried my son (like him) won't ever get to the point where he is "ready."

I don't plan on forcing him to potty train but was thinking it may be effective way to get him on the path of potty training. Of course I'll keep him in diapers until he's ready to not be completely potty trained but I'm hoping this will send his mind in the correct direction.

Has anyone ever done this before? Does it seem effective?

I just don't want to ever change a four year old's diaper ever every again! LOL! Thank you for your respectful advice!

I know some of the basics, but when do you start 'craving' foods and have to wear maternity pants? I am only 7 weeks along, 5'2", and short-waisted. My doctor said it is possible for me to start 'bloating out' anytime and have to wear larger pants. I just want to make sure I am not 'mentally creating' these feelings!

Is there a website where you can find out these 'mommy milestones?' I have had already checked out several.

I know this is going to sound ridiculous because us women dont have a choice, but i am really nervous about delivering a baby. As many other women, i have a very low tolerance to pain...what im wondering is if you can share your delivery experiance with me (vaginally or c-section). Where in your body do you feel contractions? What do they feel like?, does having an epidural done hurt really bad?, and does it really help? Is there anything you can compare the pain of giving birth to?, or explain what it feels like? If you knew how much it was going to hurt to deliver a baby would you have thought twice about having children? Im probably going to kick myself for asking this, hopefully you all wont scare me off but i love children and cannot wait to start a family with my husband and i am just trying to prepare myself so i dont have many surprises. Thanks for all your help, also because we are so new to all of this, any help or advise would be appreciated!!

Is having discharge normal before you have your period or is it normal if I may be pregnant( I am 1 day late but, that is not a big deal yet) I am having cramping but I had that early on with my little girl too. I am married so I know the discharge is not from an infection or anything like that and no foul odor or itching or anything else.

How can I go back to work? I gave birth to a baby and she was dead. I can't understand it myself but I think about her constantly and am so sad for losing a daughter. She was only 21 weeks in my uterus and most people are of the impression "it's just a miscarriage, she's already had 3 of them, what's the big deal?" or people don't even know because no one has told them. My friend at my work told me that no one at work knows why I'v been off work for a month now, and I can't imagine going back to work and having people ask me why I was off work or what I was sick with and it was because I lost a baby. To me that's a huge deal and it's so sad that no one gets it or understands. Has anyone gone through this and know of any way I can deal with my grief in a secret private way since it's not an acceptable grief to have in this society?

this might be a silly question, or it may be an absolutly legitament question.....but last night i wasn't feeling very well so i decided to take a hot shower...(i am 35 weeks pregnant btw)...i got into the shower and turned the water on as hot as i could stand it. it felt so good and relaxing, i sat down in the tub and let the hot water run over me (i almost fell asleep it was so relaxing). but all of a sudden i remembered that pregnant women aren't supposed to take very hot baths or go to a sauna or things like that (and the water was coming down right on top of my stomach). so i jumped up and got out of the shower. i am just a little paranoid that i may have caused brain damage or something to my unborn son....could that have happened??? should i mention it to my doctor at my next appointment (next week)? i seem fine and the baby is moving around today (although, not as much a usual...). Am i just a paranoid mom? any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

As it goes through the day, the very dry skin on his face (cheeks & chin) gets really red and worse as the day goes on. I don't think it's a rash-- We've consistantly put lotion on his face and it's not helping. We think it's from wiping his face with a washcloth after eating and/or him rubbing his face on the carpet & us. Has anyone experience this? Do your kids' faces get red by the end of the day from cleaning the food off of them? Any ideas on how to clear it up?

Please, no "go to the DR" comments.

My son just turned a year old not too long ago...

First question is when should I start working on potty training he is at the point now that if his diaper gets too wet he rips it off or tries to rip it off and if he cant then he gets really mad. even if the diaper is barely wet

Question two- my son knows how to pull up has been doing so for a while now and he can walk around with the help of hold onto something with ease, he has taken a few steps alone but is not showing any real interest in walking. When should a toddler start walking.
