There was a strange smell coming from our 3 year olds closet where his big toy box is. So dragged out the box, dumped the toys out & found:
1) one very moldy sippy cup that had strawberry/banana juice in it (and had leaked onto most of the toys...very sticky)
2) 2 rotten hot dogs (half eaten)
3) grapes that had turned to raisens
AND (here's the good one)
4) 1 dead bird...obviously brought in from the backyard at some point.
Now I make it a habit to go through the toy box at least once a week for inspections.

Well, I wasn't cleaning when this happened. My oldest daughter, we were trying to potty train her, and my middle daughter (who was about six months at the time) were playing in their bedroom. We kept a long shirt with no underwear on the oldest daughter (she was two at the time) in the potty training ritual. Anyway I was making my way to check on them when I walked iin on a sight. My oldest daughter did not make it to the bathroom and had pooped on the floor. That is not the disgusting part, the six month old had taken a clump and smooshed it in her hands. I nearly fainted. There was not enough lysol and Dial soap on this earth to scrub that away. We later ditched the long shirt and no underwear idea, and just stuck the oldest one in pull ups until she was fully ready to potty train.

A pop tart that he had taken and mashed into the Central A/C Vents that are in his bed room floor. It was just gross. Had Cherry gooey stuff every where.

This is one of the best question and answers I have ever seen here. I loved the dead bird one. For me it was my oldest that had a toy with dried pee in it when he was 2.

Nothing. We make a point to keep food in the dining room and places where they belong so we don't get surprises! My oldest (five years) is in charge of helping clean his room daily so things don't build up or get disgusting.
