II think my baby is sitting on a nerve and I'm in a lot of pain. What can i do to get him to move off of it. Its causing me pain on the top of my stomach and in my back. I've had it now for 2 months. The doctors have ruled out gallbladder problems and gastro-intestinal problems. Any advice?

My daughter is having this problem as well. She is due Jan 9 and the baby is pressing on her sciatic nerve and she's in a lot of pain too. The doctor told her there is unfortunately nothing she can do. SORRY!

I was VERY nervous about labor and birth, as well as worrying about the new responsibility in my life, before I had my son...and I was 39 when he was born! So you see, it's not just your age that worries, it's everybody. My baby came at 32 weeks, and because I worked second shift at a hospital, I didn't even get to take childbirth classes like I wanted to. When I went into labor unexpectedly, it was really scary. But guess what? Your body knows what to do! Your brain doesn't have to know! And you will have medical professionals around you who will tell you exactly what to do and when. I just went along for the ride. I'm actually kind of glad that I didn't take the class. Every time I would read ahead a chapter in the book, "What To Expect When You're Expecting", I would get nervous and a little sick. For years, I thought childbirth was the most frightening, horrible thing a woman could go through--that's one of the reasons why I didn't have a child until I was 39! So, in my instance, ignorance was a bit of bliss. Once labor started, I couldn't stop it, and I just went with the flow. After you give birth, very soon afterwards, you will feel amazingly well. I know people will tell you to be as informed as possible before you go into labor...but consider what I've said. If you're the nervous type, maybe too much knowledge could be a bad thing. Just try to relax as much as possible in the next few weeks. The baby's gonna come whether you're ready or not!

Sorry to say no. With all 4 of my children, a nerve on the left side got pinched and I hurt all the way down to my foot untill I gave birth. Then of course it is over because the baby in not on it. Good luck. Sorry but that is the way it was for me.

Eat something spicy!!!! When my sister was pregnant, everytime she ate spicy food the baby would move. Just push on your belly to move him.

Bear with it. Not much else you can do until baby finds a new spot to park it.
