Pregnancy & Parenting - 5 November 2006

My son just turned 4 months and at his well baby checkup he weighed 19lbs 1oz and is 26".. Is he really that big, I've never been around babies before, but everyone who sees him is just amazed at how big he is.. He's not fat or anything, he's already outgrown his 6-9 month clothes, and he's the youngest but biggest baby in his daycare.. I was just wondering if it is as weird as everyone is making it out to be or if it's just a normal thing, and he'll slow down soon. I'm not a worry wort or anything, I would just like some other opinions..

I am 18 years old and I really love my boyfriend. I live on my own away from home where I grew up, in a different state than my parents. What is the worst thing my family could do to me if they found out that I was pregnant? Me and my boyfriend love eachother very much. How would I tell my family? People didnt seem to like my Chaston idea for a boy, so does anyone have some cool names they'd like to share? I really do like Chaston though and I really like European sounding names... Girls and boys because I dont know what I'm having yet. : ) Thanks!

Also, I live in Dallas in an area where the kids all have different/funky names so my child probably will not be "made fun of." Different is the cool thing around here.

My daughter is almost three. My husband and I have gone from "definitely no more kids" to "well, maybe one more...". We're both thinking about it, neither of us is pushing for it.

The thing is we are happy with our daughter but sometimes she's hard to handle, typical toddler stuff of course, and we're worried that with two kids we'll be tearing our hair out day and night.

Those of you with two or more kids, how much more challenging is two than one?

I just had a baby girl on the 2nd of Nov and I was breastfeeding for the 1st two days. Now my nipples have been REALLY sore and sometimes I breastfeed her but when the pain gets too tough for me to handle I switch to formula. Is this bad? I'm really engoreged as well and i was thinking of pumping some out and breastfeed her but I don't know. I put Lansinoh and it kind of helps but my nipples stay sore. ONE more thing before my nipple would stick out and now they are flat. Is that because i'm engoreged or something else. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!

My 2 year old (since she was an infant) hates to go poop and she'll hold it in as long as possible. But she's miserable when she has to go and she'll cry and whine until she goes. She's not constipated and her doctor said there's nothing much we can do about it. Has this happened with your kid and did they ever grow out of it?

Can anyobody advise me on my legal position. My daughter is 15 and lives at home with me with her daugter (7 weeks old).
My daughter has suddenly turned against me and honestly all I have done is totally support her in this shocking situation, and I have not spoken of my support or required praise I have just done EVERYTHING I can (and silently sacrficed a lot) and suddenly she has gone off of the rails (gone off getting drunk etc - and it is not how I brought her up) and I am concerned about my granddaughter - I need to know I can protect her OK if ever needed be. i am not a fan of spanking children but i have 15y/o son that still throws tandrums while we're in public.he drops to the floor and starts kicking and screaming.and up until now me and my wife have always given in.however i have had it with him and im considering spanking him with a belt the next time he does this.the only thing im corcerned about is that he has never experienced physical discipline and i wonder if the experience could possibly do more harm then good.do u think physical discipline would be appropriate in our situation?

I been late for 6 days on my period and i get cramps like am about to get my period or like a feeling when you scared a pain in my tummy. I took a pregnancy test last night but it came out negative. Do you think i can still be pregnant? My period is unragular once i didnt have it for a whole month and its never on the actual date what do you think? from your pregnancy experiece? They do say that your period is sometimes late when your stressed right? This month i was on a car accident and i been super stressed out.

I found out this morning that my step dad (married to my mom for 3 years) has two other kids in New York that he has been keeping a secret.

I saw a post on Answers the other day that had a link to http://background-records.net/ Well, I was bored this weekend so I started checking it out. I entered various names and when I entered my step dad's name it listed a group of family names (including my mom, my sister, and myself). There were several other names listed that I was not familiar with. After checking the birth records on the site I discovered that my step dad is their father! The other kids are 12 and 14.

I am positive that my mom does not know this info. I am afraid she will be heart broken. Should I tell her or just pretend like nothing happened? I really don't know what to do.

My baby is 17 lbs Baby Bjorn is up to 22lbs. I want a front carrier and one that is not too bulky, and I do not want a sling. I was hoping for one that would last her at least until 30lbs? I am not sure if this is possible. Thanks.
