Hi! I have 10 month old twins so I've read and experienced alot on this subject.

37 weeks is considered "full term" for a twin pregnancy. (40 weeks is "full term"/due date for a singleton - one baby) However, there are women who give birth to their twins on or after their due date of 40 weeks. There are others that because of health complications/other factors give birth much earlier. 25 weeks is generally considered the earliest that both babies have a good chance of surviving. I gave birth to mine at 36 weeks.

Hope this helps!

More then 90% of twins are born 30-35 weeks by C-section and they all usually end up in the NICU for a few weeks

As the parents of triplets, I think we've always heard it was around 36 weeks for delivery of twins, and 32 weeks for triplets. My wife made it to 35 weeks, which was very fortunate as it reduced, and in fact eliminated, potential complications. She had a C-section and she and the babies all came home after just three days. We were very, very lucky. In fact, we've been so blessed with our experience that we're trying to share some of the things we've learned with other multiple parents. We've set up a website, http://www.mostlymultiples.com that I hope you'll find helpful in learning about twins. Check out "The Basics" page, which contains a ton of facts about multiple births. Good luck!

I'm not sure about an average, I had my twins, a boy and a girl, at 33 weeks. I didn't have a c-section. They weighed ,girl, 3lbs 5ozs and ,boy, 3lbs 15ozs. My babies spent 3 weeks in the hospital. They are 16 months old and doing great. I had alot of problems , high bloodpresure, diabetes, and preterm labor.
I have a very good friend who had twin girls at 36 weeks. She didn't have a c-section and her and her babies went home together two days later. They weighed 5lbs and 5lbs 5ozs. They are 6 months old and doing great.

I'm not sure what exactly the average is, but more and more sets of twins are going full term nowadays due to excellent pre-natal care and medical advancements. My guess would be from 32-36 weeks....but i havn't researched it!
