I was wondering how many of you disciplined your children by physical punishment or other means? What I really want to is how they turned out.

I have a friend who's parents are VERY strict.They don't let her see her friends other than at school and they seem to decide everything for her. I'm not sure how they disciplined her for the first years of her life since I just met her a year ago, but she turned out to be a very respectful and responsible person.

Thing is she now resents her parents for these things and cannot wait to move away from them. One example why is that during promotion they did not let her go because she got a B in Geometry, which is already 2 levels above the regular math level. I just want to know how has discipline affected your child?

I don’t know how to say this so here it goes.
I just felt like kicking my brother in the balls, me and my girlfriends do it all the time in school. So I started playfighting with him, he was letting me win, when he was on the floor facing me I stomped on his balls, he cried but I did it again and one ball slipped out of the way but the othr was kinda trapped and then I felt a pop under my foot; he passed out and turned very pale! I had no idea they could pop! I told my parents it was an accident. His heart almost stopped on the way to the hospital. They managed to save the ruptured testicle but it will not work anymore.
My Mother was so mad; she gave a big beating, and told me to stay on my room until they decide what to do with me!!! She can not beat me like that, that is abuse, and I hate her. My father do not even wants to see me. Why they don’t believe me?! I locked my door. WHAT CAN I DO TO PROTECT MYSELF?!!!! No stupid answers please.

I just recently decided that my mother is doing more harm to my baby than good and I don't want her to go over to her house...my daughter still asks for her and cries when I tell her she can't go. My mother says she talked to her lawyer and that because my baby cries for her it's emotional abuse.....is this true? Will I get in trouble with social services for it?

My daughter will not eat meat of any kind not even fish. I have tried dressing it up and I offer it to her every time. She eats a lot of veggies and fruit. The doctor said she is fine and as healthy as can be, but no recommendation on giving her more protein. She eats a lot of peanut butter, but is there anything else I can give her to make up for the lake of meat intake, or will she be fine. She eats about 4-7 peanut snadwhiches a week.

We have a road leading to our house (approx. 3miles), Can I at 16 drive my mums car along it and back when they are away on holiday?
The fields either side of the track belong to us also. & its totally private eg. we dont live on a farm or anything like that.

If you did, what do you remember most about those years as a babysitter? For me I remember the fact that 99% of all the babies I babysat wore regular old-fashioned cloth diapers with safety pins and rubber pants. Glass baby bottles were still popular and always used. Baby walkers with casters were still the in thing to put your crawling baby into, as were Jolly Jumpers. Spanking was still acceptable, and outdoor clotheslines with diapers drying on them was a common everyday sight.

im on the DEPO shot and ive been on it for a while and ive been really sick lately. I took a test a little over a month ago b/c ive felt sick for a while, and it turned up negitive, then i took another one, again it was negitive. i went to the doctors b/c i didnt know if i was pregnant and they thought i was and they had me take a urine test, it also turned up negitive, so now i have to go get an ultrasound to see whats wrong. Has anyone out there been on DEPO and gotten pregnant and had all urine test show up negitive then turned up to be pregnant???

We don't know what we are having yet... I have already decided on a girls name, but if it's a boy, I'm in trouble! I would like a name that starts with a T. My daughter is 31/2 and refuses to wear anything other than nappies. She screams if I take her nappy off and then holds herself and panics. She gets almost hysterical and I give in and put her nappy back on because I cant bear to see her so upset. She wont sit on the potty and tells me she is frightened of it. She wont use the toilet so we brought another potty but that has helped, she wont go on that on either. My other daughter is 18 months old and I started to try to potty train her in the hope that it will show my oldest there is nothing to worry about. But whenever my youngest is on the potty or in pants my eldest freaks out and starts panicing. I dont want her fears passed to my youngest. What should I do?
