Nobody yell at me! A mother in my toddler's play group gives her 2 1/2 year old a fraction of her Ambien when they travel by plane.I have heard of at least two other people who occasionally give their kids Benadryl for the same reason.They claim it's safe.I have my doubts. ASIDE from the fact that potential for abuse is huge, is it ever safe to do? I have heard also that it can have the opposite effect on some children, making them hyperactive.I seriously considered doing it last night when my 3 yr old was overtired and wired.I tried warm milk, lights out , stories, alone time, very quiet soothing music...finally she collapsed at 2:30 am!! We had to get up at 6:00 today! Is sleeping medication of any kind ever appropriate for children?

Hi, I'm 38 y.o. & just found out I'm pregnant (my first) and I'm three weeks along. I am very worried that it will be an ectopic pregnancy or something. The very first appt. I could get with an OB is not for three more weeks, so I will be 6 weeks along. Should I keep calling around and try for an earlier appt.? When did you have your first sonogram? What can they see at six weeks anyway? Is there anything to see?

Why, Why, Why, Should a mother have reason to kill their child abortion or otherwise? a baby is a blessing people not a rag doll... The only way i think a baby should be aborded is if the mother has HIV and the baby is getting it through her even then i dont think im up for it... How bout you?

I see posts on here like “How to get a six year old to clean their room” or “How to get my eighteen month off the bottle” and I’m not trying to criticize these parents but couldn’t these be avoided in the earlier stages? Like the title says…am I just paranoid for doing things a certain way with my son to make it so I don’t have to deal with these issues later on? My son is six months and I let him watch me clean and I keep a clean house (even though sometimes I don’t feel like doing it) so that he understands even at an early age that’s what I expect. I’ve had a routine since he was born so he knows exactly what time he is expected to go to bed. I’m currently getting him off the bottle so it won’t be an issue when he really can acknowledge it. I figure that’s my responsibility and I find that my parenting technique is very much looking forward to what kind of a person he will be so these problems don’t happen to me. So are these steps I’m taking going to help me achieve what I want or not? And for the parent who have had these problems (other than potty training) do you feel there is something you could have done differently to avoid them? Again, I’m not trying to offend anyone and I do know everyone parents differently but I was just wondering…

ovulation can I be ? I've been trying the temp thing but it gets frustrating! My temps are very crazy! Yesterday I started having really hot urges and I'm still having urges right now! Is that a sign of ovulation when you get real horny? How many days past ovulation can I be? I have a 28-30 day cycle. Thanks

hello, i have a question for everyone. I think im pregnant but im not sure. I alway think i am and end up getting my period a day after i take a test. Ive been very tired latly, nausated and my boobs are getting bigger. My husband says it "feels" like it did last time i was pregnant. Ok, so its been about 3.5 weeks since i might have gotten pregnant. within those couple weeks at first i was rrreeeall moody and crying alot, but not sick at all, that went away for a little, but just recently, i have been having horrible headaches, and for the past couple days i've been throwing up really late at night (early early morning) about 3:30-4:00. i didn't have my period at the end of last month or the begining of this one, so i missed a month, but this morning there was blood on my underwear, is that just spotting? my boobs aren't sore, not yet, but the little bumps on them are waay more noticeable, im taking a test today, but am i?

I was trying to pull to the curb to let the kids out and she kept zooming up trying to keep me out, when I beeped at her she gestured that she wanted to go where I was trying to go. She was already at the curb, I waited for 2 cars to pull out before I tried to get in, then she beeped at me to go because I was watching to make sure my kids made it in. I WANTED TO GET OUT AND RIP HER HEAD OFF! How would you handle this situation, I feel bad because I am letting it get to me!

I have had four pregnancies with the same partner (two full term) and have experienced the same symptoms with all. I was wondering if I would have the same symptoms with a pregnancy fathered by my new partner.

I realize this is the parenting/pregnancy section and that this doesn't really have anything to do with that but there are alot of parents here who are probably smart and would let me know if this is good or not. I want to make a quilt. Here's my idea: I'm gonna find some cheap concert t shirts (like on ebay or something) from concerts that I like and I want to make squares for the quilt out of the shirts. I'm gonna take the front and cut a square out and then on the back of that square is going to be the part on the back of the shirt that has the tour dates. Would that be cool? I think it would be cheaper than using fabric from a store because usually you can get them cheap on the internet. What do you think? Would it be cool? I really love music and I just thought that might be cool.

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby, we have been trying just the past month (from july 22nd till now) I tested 2 weeks after the first time we tried but it came out negative, and on August 21st I had a bit of bleeding for just a day, I thought it was my period but it stopped the very same day, and I tested again on Wednesday but it came out negative, what was it? a little period? or what else could I bet? how long should I wait after the egg has been implanted to get the pregnacy test?

He does not take naps. Our bedrooms are on opposide ends of the house. He will stay up all night even if he has had only 5 hours of sleep. I also have a 3 week old who i am up with all hours of the night and everytime the baby wakes up to feed so does my 2 year old. He will be 3 in Dec.
