My friend has two little girl names she really really likes...she has been telling all her family and friends the names and some like one and some like the other one so she is pretty torn...so we thought having some outsider perspectives would be a good idea...so which do you prefer...Grace Caroline or Summer Fawn...and why do you prefer one or the other...thank you! :)

I have been with my partner for nearly 3 years and he has a 9 year old son. He idolises his Mum but she is never around and doesn't come to visit.

I would just like some advice on how to deal with having a 9 year old around and I guess getting used to it.

Me and my girlfriend had sex on Aug. 13th, I came inside of her, but didn't realize the condom broke, she last had her period on the July 30th, and her last cycle was around 35 days long, its only been two days, 48 hours to the exact hour, and tomarrow morn. she is going to by that 72-hour pill, I'm hoping she didn't already ovulate, but I hear it happens on average the 14th day of the cycle (12-15 days), I'm in fear of her being pregnant, am I in alot of trouble here, or am I really worrying to much??? I know even if you time it up right, there is only a 25% chance of her getting pregnant, but she doesn't know when she ovulated or if she didn't even ovulate yet. I'm just looking for answers, advice, suggestions, anything that can help. Thank you all so much!

Kindly explain why too. So, maybe I could just stop my brothers from watching that show. I'm 16, so I have less reservation on shows now. Thanks much.

My last period started July 10. I'm now a week late from my longest cycle I've ever had. I've taken 3 tests that say negative, but I don't quite believe it. I've never been late like this before and my breasts are tender and swollen (the sides not nipples). I can't see my obgyn until Sept. 8th.

At about the time the baby was conceived, we had a few problems and separated for about a week. We still slept together, but I also slept with someone else. A friend told me the only way to rule out my husband as the father, without him knowing, was to do what was a common practice in the 70s and early 80s. That was to let my doctor obtain a blood sample. Then test that sample against the babys once it is born. If there is no known genetic disease in either family, that would be the only reason for the father to give a blood sample. But he doesnt know that. Again, I love him. I made a mistake. For all I know so did he. I just want to know from someone who knows, if it would work. I dont care about DNA testing. That would be way too obvious. Thank you.

does anyone homeschool? my daughter is 3 1/2 and i don't know if i want her in the school system yet. i am thinking about starting her off slowly in a preschool program from home, and maybe even continuing homeschooling her beyond that. we are in georgia, and the school system here is not very good. what's your experience? i'm interested in scheduling, working around your other children, discipline, etc. thanks!

i'm not sure how i feel about having another baby. well, that's a given because i have a 6 month old. how long did you wait before having more and being ready for it? what is a good amount of time to wait before a second child when it comes to finances? i think i would like my daughter to have a sibling, not in the near near future, but when should i start seriously thinking about this?

Can you conceive two weeks after an abortion? My sister had an abortion at 8 weeks and 3 days on July 15th.?
The reason for the abortion was because the doctors found that the baby had a disease (that I am not fond of) in which my sister wouldn't have been able to carry full term & the baby would be a miscarriage. The doctors told her the probability of this happening again to her would be 1 in 10 million & he said she could continue having sex and trying for another baby two weeks after the procedure if she felt emotionally stable (the two weeks were "healing time"). Well she went for her checkup a week after and two weeks after the abortion she had unprotected sex and has continued to do so. They say you should get ur period 4-6 weeks after an ab. Her abortion has been 4weeks and 3 days ago & 7 pregnancy tests read positive (but could be from the last pregnancies hcg levels). Is this possible she is carrying again? This boy is all brains. He reads, speaks his mind, can count to 100 , knows his planets, shapes, colors, loves clocks n calendars, and is starting to understand what addition and subtraction is. He surfs the web like nobody's business. Physically he can jump, canter, climb, dance in rythum to a beat (he's into drumming too), but when it comes to rolling a ball, catching a ball, or riding a tricycle - he just doesn't seem to get it. He just learned how to move forward in a 'little tyke' kid car. Before that he would only push the car from behind or push backwards. I'm not sure if I should be doing anything. But I don't want my son to be the only one on the team who doesn't know how to catch or ride a bike. I don't want opinions, so if that's all you have, please don't bother. I need some real information about child development here.

The doctor said my 6 month old should eat around 32 ounces of formula a day, but most days she only had around 24-28 oz. and it's been that way for the past month. Is this normal? She just farts around so much halfway through her bottle it is hard to get her to eat more than 6 oz in a setting! Did you have problems with this? In the middle of her bottle she just wants to play and "talk" to me(don't get me wrong, it's cute and I love it when she does it, but i don't know if i should be concerned..) Should I try smaller, more frequent feedings? She is in good ranges for her height and weight...

This is not a Miss America question but a serious question as to what a single african american parent can do to pull herself and children up and away from poverty's clutches. I know the typical senerio education, working, better jobs but how can you also do this when these barriers (such as affordable child care) are what keeps you from these things?
