Me and my girlfriend had sex on Aug. 13th, I came inside of her, but didn't realize the condom broke, she last had her period on the July 30th, and her last cycle was around 35 days long, its only been two days, 48 hours to the exact hour, and tomarrow morn. she is going to by that 72-hour pill, I'm hoping she didn't already ovulate, but I hear it happens on average the 14th day of the cycle (12-15 days), I'm in fear of her being pregnant, am I in alot of trouble here, or am I really worrying to much??? I know even if you time it up right, there is only a 25% chance of her getting pregnant, but she doesn't know when she ovulated or if she didn't even ovulate yet. I'm just looking for answers, advice, suggestions, anything that can help. Thank you all so much!

It only happens on the 14th day of the cycle if the cycle is 28 days long. It usually happens in the exact middle of the cycle and she is capable of becoming pregnant for only 36 hours during that time. The chances of you hitting that 36 hours are slim in a 35 day cycle considering that the 13th was only 14 days into her cycle. Good Luck but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

A lot of young women don't pay attention to when they ovulate. I never knew until after i got pregnant. I took the Plan B pill (72 hr pill) but it didn't work. BUT THANK GOD because i have my daughter and i love her to pieces and i couldn't imagine my life without her. I just wanted to let you know those things don't always work! just support your girlfriend as much as you can, try not to panic or stress her out more than she already might be. When i got pregnant it was like 22 days after the first day of my last period. but i'm not sure how other women's cycles work, i'm not much of a girly girl. Anyway, good luck, don't assume the worst, and be there for your girlfriend in the best way that you can.

Try to relax a bit. First, the morning after pill is 89% effective. Not perfect, but pretty darn good.
Second, the fact that your girlfriend's cycles are (very) long is working in your favor. Most women ovulate 12-16 days *before* their period. For her, that mean probably Day 19 at the earliest (so it probably hasn't happened yet for this cycle.)

lets her buy the 72-hour just in case but she is likely to be most fertile from Monday, July 31, 2006 to Saturday, August 5, 2006. I used an ovulation calculater.
So if she is or is not she'll be taking the pill so everything would be fine. Don't worry and ask her not to because stress can cause periods to be late.
Good luck

when you're for actual and the you imagine that you may want to be doubtlessly pregnant, bypass on your well being care provider and get the morning after pill. In effect a marvel dose of the ingredient in the traditional contreceptive pill. might want to be accessible out of your community pharmacy/ dispencary. do not even concider an abortion because it is going to screw your existence completely for ever and also you'd be a cot case syko. If each thing turns pear formed undertake and make an infertile coulpes dream come actual. next time try a more effective respected condom, or perhaps 2. when you're Irish try 3 .. to be shaw, to be shaw, to be shaw !! magoo

I don't think you have to much to worry about.
She would have to concieve around the 18-20th to become pregnant, and today is only the 15th. Chances are, all the sperm will die (sperm lives 3-5 days in the female body) before the 18th.
Even so... If she becomes pregnat from this...
The estimated due date will be: May 11, 2006 and expect to have a girl.

First of all you can take a chill pill :)
Secondly, support your girl no matter what.
Thirdly, just wait and see.
All the calculations about ovulation and menstruating and all that junk are just approximates. Who knows when fate will intervene and make that one sperm the right one to find that egg.....
Just relax and take it easy. Support your gal and let her know you'll be there for her no matter what. And if you can't do that, make a break before she gets too dependant on you.
Condoms break. It happens. Stressing it will only stress her out and possibly make her period later (if she hasn't conceived).
That's the best advice I can give on this one :)
Good luck :)

a little too late for the 72 hour pill, and you need a doctor's prescription to get it. one of the things they do before giving it to you is usually to make you take a pregnancy test. this dosen't mean that she couldn't be prescribed RU486, the so called "abortion pill" which induces sloughing of the uterine lining and therefore getting any attached embryos to come out with it. if you are having sex regularly, i would recommend that she try a secondary method of birth control, like the pill or the patch, since condoms, as you know, do break sometimes. hope it all works out for you.
