My last period started July 10. I'm now a week late from my longest cycle I've ever had. I've taken 3 tests that say negative, but I don't quite believe it. I've never been late like this before and my breasts are tender and swollen (the sides not nipples). I can't see my obgyn until Sept. 8th.

My first child was a false negative.. but after a blood test it was confirmed... If you have not started in a few days you might want to try it again.. the levels that are needed for pregnancy test could be a little higher depending on the test you used.. plus you could be getting some older test that are not accurate.. especially if you are getting them all from the same place... try a different brand or make sure the dates are accurate.. you may just have to wait it out a few more days.. Good Luck.. :)

well first off.. are you trying to conceive..? if u want this baby then u should try n make ur doctor squeeze u in for an apt.. this is my story: i was getting surgery and they told me to take a pregnancy test.. and i did but it sed negative.. so i went along had the surgery.. then i still hadnt gotten my period two weeks later so im thinking.. whats the deal? i take another test .. turns out i was pregnant.. almost two months i had just taken the other test too early.. so then i end up miscarrying from the medicine i was on and the stuff they use to put u to sleep..
the tender breasts thing is also a sign.. i got that.
well good luck to you!

How frustrating for you.

I have heard that some women don't get ++ until the are around 4 months pregnant. But usually a false negative means that you tested to early.

In your case it doesn't sound like you were too early. What was the brand of test you used? Perhaps if you tried a different brand.

My sister had a false negative. I told her it was wrong and to test again in 3 days to let her hormone level build up .... she didn't believe me but did it and well ... her son is 3 1/2 years old now. Wait 3 days and re test.

You may be right ... you may be pregnant.

I would wait a week and repeat the pregnancy test.

If you have only just become pregnant it may take a little while for the hormone levels to build up to the point where the pregnancy test detects it.

Oh - and then again, you might not be pregnant and it might be something else.

it's not uncommon to get false neg. in the first week or two of a pregnancy, it is rare though any later than that
