Pregnancy & Parenting - 24 July 2006

Obviously, I am a young (20 year old) woman who is pregnant and is scared of the delivery. I have a disorder where I tend to pass out A LOT. Even with the poke of a needle, I am out on the floor. My doctor says that I'll be fine giving natural birth and he will only consider a C-section only if I can't deliver naturally, or otherwise, already passed out. My husband is extremly scared for me, and I want to reassure him that everything will be okay, but I don't know what to tell him. Can anyone give me some kind of reassurence that natural birth isn't all that bad?

if so ,pls let me know what was your resulat and if your result was not good what did you do next?
I had my test it was 1in160 I am 32 years old and 16 weeks perganant ( when I did the test was my first day of my 15th week)
my next step is ultrasound , I want to do if that is good enought and can save me from amnio...

My husband and I have been together for a total of 5 years. We plan to start trying for a baby in about 9 months when I am 24 and he is 26.

That means our baby will be born when my mother is 47. This will be her first grandchild.

My mother says things to discourage me from having a child even though we are financially and emotionally stable.

We want to start a family and my mom seems to have a problem with the thought of being a grandma. She tells me to wait until I am 30 before I get pregnant so she has will have more time to be a grandma.

My mother had me and my older brother when she was 19 and 22.

And then had my two little brothers when she was 33 and 37.

So she still has an 8 year old and a 12 year old at home.


Maybe she thinks she is too young to be a grandma since she still has pre-teen kids at home?

I feel I can’t put my life on hold because she had two more children once I was in my teens!

im dew back to work in november and ive just found out they have changed all my work and are going to move me elsewhere to work! really upset about it as i get on great with people i work with, and they have replaced me with someone who works less hours, is this normal or can i fight it?

I am going to start fertility drugs the beginning of august. I have heard mood swinges are horrible while on these and alot of women don't get pregnant. (I was hoping to be pregnant in 2-3 months, maybe with twins or just one) Has anyone taken them? How long after you got pregnant? Will i have like 6 kids???

Whenever the issue of abortion comes up everyone brings up the notion of rape/incest, mom's life being endangered, not being able to raise a kid. Why doesn't anyone bring up the notion of genetic disorders or birth defects?

I had a family friend who found out while she was pregnant that her daughter's stomach was where her heart was. Even though doctors told her the baby would have a slim to none chance of making it to her first birthday she had the baby anyway. The baby wen through major surgery every week of her life. she died just before surgery #40. Her parents are stuck with a $40 million medical bill after insurance.

You can give me your opinion of why or why not. I just want to know why no one ever brings that notion up?

i have two younger sisters. 14 and 16. i just found out that the 14 yrs old is having sex. my older sister(26), my husband and i(25 and 24) are very upset and know the right thing to do would be to tell my parents who have no idea what they are doing. i know it is in the 14 yr old best interest to tell my parents so she does not ruin her life by getting pregnant at such and early age or getting an STD. I love them to death but they are going to hate me for a long time for betraying their trust. we are best friends but i know have to look out for them if my parents cant see what they are doing. what would you do in the situation?

im about ten days from my missed period and my mother said that if it doesnt come by the end of the week then she'll take me to the clinic
but im gettin even more stressed out everyday...**secret: im only THIRTEEN
and i cannot take not knowing if im pregnant or not its sad but its true that im too young
how can i rush her to take me to the clinic without actually RUSHING her??? i dont wanna get on her nerves or nothin like that but this is really bothering me!!

ive had these symptoms:

What are you going to, or have you named your kids?
I find it sad and disheartening to name kids after cars, perfumes, and machines...(ie:Corola, Chanel, and Xerox...not to mention, Nike, Adidas and Subaru...)
I can understand if there is a deep meaning to it, but why would they name them Xerox???
Anyway, I think that original names such as Emily and John are so old fashioned...It's not that I don't like them...it's that I wouldn't like my child to have a plain name. (Plain to me! Please, don't take offense!)
My point being, I want to name my kids Delaney, a girl, and McKenzie, a boy...
Any other neat/unique names you ave thought out, or already used?
Just wondering. I'm hoping I'm not a nut for liking those names...:)

I have no children right now, but am wondering if when I do have a baby if it will come out fat? Neither me or my fiance are fat or were fat when we were babies.....in fact, both of us were the same as children, and pratically weighed the same when we came out of our mothers.....how can I determin what my child will be like?

i am on birth control,i have not missed or been late taking any of my pills but my breast were sore for like 3 weeks and now i am 2 days late with just a little pinkish tinge thats all....i have taken 2 test both negative but im never late usually im like 2 to 3 days early!! is this possible??
