Do people not watch tv anymore? The test is called FIRST RESPONSE!!!

ome pregnancy tests, such as First Response, and Confirm, claim to be able to detect if a woman is pregnant 5 days before an expected period. As every woman is different, and we all produce the pregnancy hormone hCG at a different rate, some have to wait until their period is due, or even a few days afterwards to get a positive result.

With my first pregnancy, which was a miscarriage, I tested on the day that my period was due. I got a false negative. I then waited until my period was a week late, and got a dark positive straight away. With this pregnancy, which is a normal, healthy and viable one, I tested on the day that my period was due. I got an extremely faint, barely visible line, early in the morning. Later that day, after I hadn't been to the toilet for hours, I tested again at the doctors office, and got a slightly darker line. This is because in such a short time, the levels of hCG in my system must have risen, to produce a darker line on the test. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant, and could not be happier.

When testing before your period is due, it is advised to test with your first morning urine because the level of hCG is more concentrated then.

I hope you get the results that you are looking for!

I'm going to include the link to a trying to conceive and pregnancy forum that I think you might like to take a look at. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. I learnt so much there that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise.

There is no over the counter test you can self administer that will give an accurate result before you pass the date that you should start your period. A blood test administered in a hospital or at a clinic is your best option. They usually cost between $15 and $45 .

A blood test can tell earlier than a pee stick. You can visit www.peeonastick.com for more info about testing sticks and the best ones to use. Most of the sticks can only tell a few days before a missed period. Blood testing can tell before then, but I honestly am not sure how much before.
