I have been keeping a girl who is now 6 since she was a baby--she too has severe excema and did as your child is doing---If you haven't yet--take her to an allergy specialist--he can find out what triggers it--she may be allergic to certain things you can avoid--the girl I keep uses medicated prescription lotion---and do keep her skin moist--one trick I used is when she took naps etc--put some mittens or even socks on her hands--also on her feet to keep te scratching down---Good luck!!! She is also on liquid meds---for itching--Hope this helps

Make sure it's eczema. I was told that's what my daughter had for two years, but just found out she has keratosis pilaris. The doctor prescribe her keralac.

My daughter has dry skin and eczema sometimes. I use Eucerin lotion and put it on her all the time. It is very good for babies and dry skin. Here is the website that explains how helpful it is for babies and eczema. You can also research all their products. It really works. http://www.eucerinus.com/advice_dermatitis.html

the Dr. could prescribe cortizone, but it burns if there are open sores. Vaseline works good for my son. And try to keep it under control.

2% cortisone prescribed by doctor. Sometimes it helps if you mix over the counter cortisone with Vaseline.

My son had ezcema when he was about that age. Our doctor just told us to use eucerin. They don't really need anything stronger than that at that age.
