no, but there is something that can cause a big baby. gestational diabetes, being obese before you become pregnant or gaining too much weight while pregnant are factors for developing it.
also after the baby is born feeding habits will effect the babys weight, the biggest issue is incorrect mixing of formula followed by improper solids (too early, too much, or wrong kinds)

Most children when born usually weigh under the ten pound mark. There have been studies on everything to try and determine what children will be like out of the womb but here is the truth. The weight of your child will depend on its diet. Remember the saying that kids imitate what their parents do. If your child doesn't learn about a healthy diet and having those good things in moderation then there is the chance that child will have weight problems.
In all honesty the weight of the child shouldn't be your number one concern. Weight is something that can be fixed over time.

babies are almost never fat when they are born. It's after they start eating that they put on more weight. Just because you are not fat doesn't mean your baby couldn't be a little chubby. It's normal! Then they grow taller and lose the baby fat.

It does not matter, fat babies are cute! Thin babies are cute, All babies are cute!
My Son was a very fat baby! He looked like Buddha! All I could see was the fat! People used to stop me to see my "cute" baby! I could not see it, because I was so obsessed with his rolls! Now he is a very handsome Fireman, with NO FAT! And when I do look back at his baby pictures, I do see now that he was a darling baby.
So my advice to you is not to get hung up on the fat on your soon to be baby. It is just baby fat! It disappears once they start to walk.

Who cares if your baby is fat, really. The important thing is your baby is healthy. babies are beautiful period. My husband and i, are very thin but produced fat, beautiful babies. Are they obese children? quite the contrary. Were they healthy? absolutely, were they brestfed?: NO. I must say that my three-year-old is exceptionally inteligent and he was not even brestfed.Hmmm Imagine that. Do not be brainwashed. Do the research and Do what you feel is best for you (yes you) and your child.

If you are fat, then your baby will be fat. He/she may not be heavy when they're born, but a "fat" mother will teach her children the same eating habits that she has. Thus, they will also be fat.

It doesn't matter if the baby is fat or anorexic, usually you can factor in by the parents though. I was 6lbs. 5oz and my fiance was 10lbs and we had a daughter 8lbs 14oz.

No, it won't be born fat, it will be born just right! It is more likely to get fat if you bottle feed rather than breast feed though.
