What are you going to, or have you named your kids?
I find it sad and disheartening to name kids after cars, perfumes, and machines...(ie:Corola, Chanel, and Xerox...not to mention, Nike, Adidas and Subaru...)
I can understand if there is a deep meaning to it, but why would they name them Xerox???
Anyway, I think that original names such as Emily and John are so old fashioned...It's not that I don't like them...it's that I wouldn't like my child to have a plain name. (Plain to me! Please, don't take offense!)
My point being, I want to name my kids Delaney, a girl, and McKenzie, a boy...
Any other neat/unique names you ave thought out, or already used?
Just wondering. I'm hoping I'm not a nut for liking those names...:)

well, my name is hailey, and i dont quite like it...but i hear its somewhat unique...i have only met a few ppl named hailey, spelled other ways, but i think it is being used more..
and mckenzie is not a name i hear a lot...but im not in love with it..
the names i will name my kids, are delaney sarah, and alden caden-marc and whatever the last name is...
the middle names are going to continue the family tradition, which is something a lot of families do, and name them after grandparents...
but there are a lot of pretty names out there, and a lot of bad ones. and i kind of feel sorry for kids with totally odd names.
but i mean if the parents like it, nobody can stop them...and its up to the kids if they totally hate it and want to change it later. haha...but still, im seeing a lot of neat names that would be great for kids...:)

I'm not offended, but my neice's name is channelle. She loves it and I don't think it's really "disheartening." I do agree that some names are different (apple) but I think it just makes the children unique.

My children's names are:
Joel David
Cross Micah
Scout Campbell

Both of the names you mentioned are not so original. I teach and I see McKenzie all the time. I guess it depends on the family and the background.

I like the names you picked although Mckenzie is getting quite popular for me....
My sons name is Sebastian, still don't have any in our town/area..
My daughters name is Kaydence, which i found out just after i had her that there is atleast one other in our area with the same name..
My daughter on the way is a more common but still kinda unique name Destynee i am just spelling it different then most spell it..

Delaney is one of my favorite names! I like a little out of the ordinary too. My oldest is Noah Spencer. He looked so much like a little wise man or something. I named all of my (4) after they were born and I could look at them. Noah, then Samuel Hamilton, Bailey Irene, and Craig Joseph. When I saw my daughters blue eyes looking at me they looked just like my Grandmothers and so Irene was it.
I don't like really plain names either. There were 4 Emily's in my son's class and 3 Jacobs. They need to be original.
I like your choices!

My son is Johann (a long standing family name) Joseph (my grandfather who died 10 years almost to the day from Johann's birth). My daughter is Kasmira (we found it beautiful, an Indian Kingdom) Delphine (family name, my great grandmother's middle name)

Johann was called Hann for awhile, Kasmira refers to herself as Mira (she is 2)

My name is Shermia, and I only seen one more like my name anywhere. Alvestina is one of the middle names of my lil sister... Dale, how about spelling "original" names differently? Instead of Aiden... Ayden or instead of Ben how about Byn? Jus sum suggestions.
