I live in a richer area of the city and I think they wont let them come over because they think Im a rich *****. Which I m not.
Why am I being discriminated against?
Those same parents let their kids (my friends) go to their other frineds homes in the ghettos. This is not fair!

I recently met a single 23 yr old mother who was working to provide for her son. She told me horror stories of her parents, friends and co-workers looking down upon her just for deciding to keep her son. I was so touched by her sacrafice that i wrote her a poem letting her know that her situation did not go un noticed and that in my eyes i had nothing but respect for her. I can closly relate as my mother raised me on her own as well for the better half of my childhood years. What i want to know, is why are young single mothers looked down on so much in our society, when in reality i believe they deserve the upmost respect. (Keep in mind i am not speaking on those mothers who abandon their responsibility or do not handle it with the care and devotion that they should). Any thoughts?

All too often I read the solutions that people have given to people having problems with their kids. Most of the answers are great but I see some answers that involve abuse of the kids by threatening abuse or shaming the child. I was just wondering if anyone out there still used this form of "disapline"? Also, what anyone else had to say on the matter. Thanks...

I recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy and am breastfeeding. I plan to breastfeed until he is about one year. I know the hormone prolactin(released when breastfeeding) is supposed to prohibit your menstrual cycle but also know of people getting pregnant when breastfeeding. I don't necessarily want to get pregnant again, but don't believe in birth control, so basically, I was just wandering how easy it is to get pregnant when breastfeeding or if it is a rare circumstance that one would get pregnant when breastfeeding. Any experience or logical/factual answers would be appreciated and where information like this can be found would be appreciated too!!!

My son will be able to start kindergarten in the fall but he will be the youngest there probably because he just cuts it for the age requirment. He knows the alphalbet, can count to 10, and thank god is potty trained but should I wait another year so he'll be in the middle of the age range and not the youngest?

This is an ongoing topic of debate around my office. I'm personally very tired of hearing "when are you two going to have kids? you've been together so long! Don't you like children?"

I do love children, my wife and I would like a family, but we're not ready. It has nothing to do with how long we've been married, nor with our maturity, nor with our health - we simply do not yet want children. Yet these are the questions we get asked, and mine is a very family-friendly work department, with myself being the only married man with no kids among 85 coworkers.

Am I overreacting? Am I right to feel offended? Should I simply chalk it up to cultural differences and leave?

My son (4) is being baby-sat by my best friend. But a while after he had been going over to her house for a while he started swearing. I know her and her husband are having problems and often get in arguments and may swear. I believe this is where he is getting it because I don't swear by kids. How do I approach her with this concern?

hi thanks for taking the time to answer my question. the thing is i have NOT attempted this method yet. my daughter is 8 1/2months old .my first child . and i pick her up when she crys and dont want to put her in her crib to cry her self to sleeplike a lot of first time moms proibily do. i have tryed to do every thing by the book . and it says when they are very younger that the cry it out method is rong because there too young to understand .. so now that shes a bit older she is use to my picking her up when she wants me. and wont fall asleep unlessin my arms .but my husband and my mom are telling me i need to put her in her crib and even if it takes 2 hours of screaming to leave her untill she falls asleep. and dont pick her up every time she crys.now initially your not to use the method because it's causes insecurity. so now that shes secure in that fact that i'm there for her . wont it just reverce it all . if all of a sudden i stop picking her up
