First, if she he has a court ordered stating that he has him for the summer, he could even call the police on her and a warrant will be issued for her arrest for non-compliance of the Order. Also, he should have advised the courts that he was not employed and he would not have accumulated any arrears, he does not have to pay for any xbox - he should not give in to this as it seems that she is just a brat... Play hardball and let him know that if things are through the court, he will be OK, the only issue is the fact that well he has to take out of his time to do these things, but you do not want to get her use to getting her way like that... He also has rights, and if his child support is being garnished from his paycheck, he will be automatically deducted for the money owed., if not, if it is all verbal, maybe he should consider filing for a visitation order so like that issues like these could be avoided in the future... To file the petition in the court is free and all he has to do is appear in court once he has her served and you both appear on the court date and that is that, he will get his visitation rights, now, for the child support, she would have to take him. . .

She is using the money thing as a control issue. You should pay whatever you can on the child support, and the plane ticket, but the xbox was her deal. SHE bought it for him because of his grades. You and your hubby didnt have input on this. BTW, and xbox does not cost 400 dollars. they are 200, so i think you are getting screwed.

I'm sure you have explained this to her. I hope she understands your situation. If not, all you can do is be patient. Some day you will have enough money to pay and things will work out. It just takes time. I hope for the best for you.

there are some things that can't be fixed without the evil dollar. the boy will just have to understand that you have to eat. let's hope that your husband has been a positive influence, and that his son can see past the current situation.

Is there a court order in place for visitation? If so, she is probably in breach of this. She is only hurting the child by carrying on like this.

a lawyer told me if i kept my kids from my ex i would be in contempt of court.....i could go to jail or have to pay fines....call a lawyer asap.......also a court order can be changed if your financial cituation changes.... i had a hard time getting my ex to pay child support, but i would have been punished if i did not do as the court orderd me to. if you have a court order your hubbys ex can get in a lot of hot water.......:)

she can't let him not come because he owes money....pay what you can and she needs to be happy, and if she purchased the xbox for him and didn't ask for him to pay half and agree to it she can't make him pay....it was a gift from her for good grades.....she just sounds like a DRAMA queen....
