No. When you get pregnant ovulation ceases until after delivery. Without ovulation, there isn't a chance of conceiving...after all the egg has to be there to meet the sperm. No ovulation, no egg. No egg, no pregnancy...simple as it gets.

No, I don't think that is a likely thing to happen because when you're pregnant, your cervix creates a mucus plug that will bar anything from entering the cervix. Which means that semen can not get into the cervix, and will never be able to reach the fallopian tubes. Besides you won't be ovulating anyway. So it's impossible. I have never heard of anybody getting pregnant while pregnant, and I'm a Biologist.
If you're referring to twins, the fertilization for both eggs would have to take place in one conception. Once you're pregnant, and say you have sex on months after the pregnancy was established, getting pregnant would be pretty much near impossible due to the barriers.

Sorry to all who say this can't happen, but otherwise there wouldn't be fraternal twins. (Unless the two different ova happen to get fertilized at exactly the same time.)
In the case of fraternal twins, one ovum is fertilized by one sperm and a different ovum by a different sperm. The woman would be "pregnant," of course, as soon as the first ovum was fertilized. So, logically, the second egg would be fertilized during the pregnancy.
I'll admit that sounds like just a technicality. So, the question is, how far apart can the two pregnancies occur? The site cited below says it can be as much as three weeks! Take a look there for more details, some very interesting.

If you mean natural conception, no. The body has a couple of barriers to prevent this from happening. One is that once the egg is penetrated by the sperm, no other sperm are able to get in. The other is once this all happens, the body stops ovulation.
I would say the only way this would happen is if one ovary ovulated, and the egg was fertilized, and shortly after (hours) the other ovary ovulated and that egg was fertilized too. This would be so early on that you would never know it happened, so I guess that point is mute.
I suppose that IVF could allow for this possibility if one fertilzed egg was implanted and a few days later another was...thats a stretch though.

Yes it is possible but it only happened like once a very long time ago. I can't find the article on it but if I do I will send you the link. What may happen at times is that you will ovulate again after you have already gotten pregnant, kinda a little short in the system then the sperm will fertilize that egg as well and tada you have now gotten pregnant....again. Let me look for the article.

It is totally impossible to become pregnant once you are already pregnant. The hormonal changes that start as soon as conception occurs prevent new eggs from maturing and being released. There are very rare cases of twins conceived from different fathers, but these acts of intercourse were within a few days of each other, fertilizing two different eggs that were released at the same time.
I hope that this answers your question.

yes it can and does happen its called Superfetation
Fraternal twins do not have to be conceived at the same time.
Superfetation occurs when a women ovulates more than one egg but the eggs are released at different times, and they are fertilized when they are released. The resulting twin pregnancy has different conception dates, so the babies may be quite different in size. Days or weeks may separate the births. It is quite an unusual event. In some cases, the births of twins may be weeks or months apart due to deliberate medical intervention. This is called interval birth.

NO,
The lining of your uterus has to be prepared to accept an egg. After you are pregnant it won`t do that..
The reason you have a period is to prepare the uterus for impregnation of the egg. When you don`t get pregnant the lining that got all soft and mushy sloughs off and thus the cramps and bleeding.
Once you are pregnant it doesn`t do that. so NO you can`t get pregnant when you are already pregnant.. Good Luck and God Bless..{:-)
