Here's the problem with providing Universal Health Care without health care industry reform FIRST:
Having back surgery in 1 week.
Total projected bill is $66,000.00
I have insurance, negotiated price for surgery is $2900.00.
YES I SAID $2900.00!!!!!!.
Had I not had insurance the bill to me would be $66,000.00!!!!!.
Universal Health Care will be nothing but a huge tax dollar drain.
The problem of 2 tiered billing must be addressed first,THEN we can consider some plan for health insurance.
Question is simple:
Do you agree or disagree?

-The Congress is, first of, 49% Republican.
-The Congress is, to most people, NOT LIBERAL ENOUGH to most Americans who know we never should have gone into Iraq in the first place.

For the 10 point award for best answer:
Why do Republicans deliberatly distort statictics. Is it to cover up how clueless and disgrace the Bush Adminsitration is?
(yep.)

If you think it isn't;what would you do to stop a thief from taking all you have?
Specifically,if we all do as some suggest and allow thieves to take what they want because"things can be replaced",why even have laws against theft? It's only "stuff" that can be replaced.
Let the police handle it? Reaction time varies from a good 4 minutes to literally hours.Plenty of time for a thief with quick hands.

This may be the most important pro-rights gun bill to come down in many years.

The Gun-Free-Zone Liability Act is a common-sense bill that would help protect the public. Resisting its reasonable provisions requires taking the moral low ground -- that you have no right to defend yourself. "If you create a gun-free zone, you're liable for any harm it causes."

Even withouth this legislation, Virginia Tech is already feeling the legal heat and may be held liable for preventing students from protecting themselves:

And I quote...

WASHINGTON (Dec. 14) - With Democrats beginning to give in to the White House on energy and spending bills, and with their hopes of expanding a popular children’s health program all but dashed, President Bush has scored three political victories this week on Capitol Hill.

My guess:
The same things John Edwards was talking openly about that made him the unofficial "winner" of the last Democratic debate:
-Good wages and good benefits for working class Americans
-Taking better care of our environment
-Creating a government that serves the American people, NOT the darling special interest big business groups that the GOP panders to for donations.

You know,REAL issues!

Because, isnt it true that the longer the Republicans can stall with their unconstitutional approach to imposing religious beliefs on others, the less time the have to actually discuss issues that affect most Americans in the first place?

I've heard the arguement that if the rich are allowed to keep more money by being taxed less, that they will have more to spend towards jobs and growth.
If the 'death' tax was lifted, wouldn't the rich be less apt to reinvest in society and simply keep passing the money on to their own generations? How does that help the middle class other than to increase THEIR tax burdon?

Is Oprah being honest with the largely female fans she encourages to be strong and fearless, and yet she supports Obama and campaigns for him. Not because he's the best person for the job because he just does not qualify there. Because he can make a change? That's a standard promise. Why then is she being such a hypocrite?

"global warming heartland", and political organizations like the CATO, Heritage, and CATO created junkscience.com?

I posted a website from NASA stating that the majority of climatoligists support man made global warming, but they still won't believe it.

They'll say that actually most scientists don't believe it, but then provide no evidence of that.

Can conservatives name even three SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATIONS against man made global warming?
