Id reserve opinion on him until I know more about his politics...But to be honest... if the Dems nominate Hillary...I believe most conservatives will rally around ANY nominee... along with the majority of Americans. She is just such a polarizing Person.. even a guy like Huckabee would beat her... just for the fact that most people dont like her at all. Despite the Lib Media's attempt to shove her down our throats as the "Candidate of Inevitability"

So far Huckabee is my Guy for 08. It is interesting though, the things that come up as possible barriers are quite silly.
1. His Name - That was the first criticism I ever heard about him, and this in a race where the Dems top tier has a guy named B. Hussein Obama. This is a Parochial issue.
2. He's a Minister - I am a Jew & I am not bothered by his faith so long as he is not bothered by mine, and wasn't Carter a Minister as well?
3. Experience - Same experience as the Governor before him. (Minus the scandalous garbage of course)
4. Electability - It is silly to think that a Conservative would be so upset by Huckabee's nomination that they would have to go vote for Hill-Bill or Obama. The question is all about the middle, and the Dems are nowhere near there.
On Election Day I will vote for the Team, just like I did last time, but come primary day... I Like Mike! Mike Huckabee is a real Conservative, a real Person, and a real Leader, he is what is best for the Republican Party. Anyone else is a compromise(again)

Some Democrats seem to think Huckabee would be easy pickings. I'm not so sure - he's formidable in some ways. He has an embarrassing lack of basic knowledge on mahy issues and sya quite a few really stupid things. But the 'liberal' media let Bush get away with those same traits in 2000 and they seem equally unwilling to call Huckabee on even obvious blunders. He is likable, as long as you know only his personality and not his record. You'll be seeing more of him, because he will be nominated for VP by either Romney or Giuliani should they win.

Huckabee is trying to play up to the religious right but they do not hold the power they once had. I've heard him talk and he has some good ideas but overall he is still to far right for the majority of Americans. We've been there, done that, and look at the mess it has gotten us into.

Great idea. Any Democrat will beat Huckabee. We don't need another republican administration for at least 8 years after Bush.

something doesn't smell right.
Clinton came from a little unknown town of Hope, Arkansas and was governor. Ditto for Huckabee.
There is no way this could be random happenstance.
I will never vote for him for that reason alone. Someone is ******* around with the system.

He is a very attractive candidate for conservatives, but I'm not sure how well he'll do with moderates and independents. I don't think he would win in the general election and that is why the mainstream media is so in love with him.

No, he is soft on crime. Also, Huckabee is a populist who allowed the children of illegal immigrants to receive scholarships. I don't want that guy to be even near to be president.

No. Huckabee would lose to Clinton or Obama. Bad idea. A positive republican ticket is Romney - President and Giuliani - Vice President
