Hi Chi Guy,
If you were working for a company and knew that you would be out of a job in a year, would you wait until the very end or would you leave as soon as a good offer came through?
Don't read too much into staffers leaving;it's the natural course of events for a second term presidency.

the shite is probably about to go down, and nobody wants to be associated with the fallout of it all- so they're bailing and hoping to disassociate themselves with all the negative, criminal crap and, hopefully, save their political careers. But ya know, Americans are simpled minded, uncritical creatures for the most part, and most will have forgotten about all this stuff in a short while anyway, and so in a few years or so, the same thing will go down again.

They are all leaving to write tell all books. Those books are going to make your hair stand on end. Avid Bushies today may very well "forget" who they voted for or supported over that 8 years.

Rats will flee a sinking ship.

Plus I'm sure they were all tired of that nagging sense of their souls getting f*cked by staying with this fool. But that's just my take on it.

Because only the captain is supposed to go down with the ship.

Because they would be out of jobs in another year, when (I know some people don't realize this) but Bush is going to be out of office. If you work in Washington it's self preservation to find another job, before the election.

Because Bush is a lame duck president, which means he is not running again, and his staff his finding work elsewhere.

Or maybe they know Bush is getting ready to revert back into his true form and those people do not want to be there when that happens.
