This is the mantra of the "Out of Iraq" crowd. I understand what they mean in the sense that they believe lives are being lost for a "useless" cause. But, "support the troops by bringing them home" as a catch phrase makes no sense to me. Troops are not sent to war with the primary goal of "bringing them home" before victory is achieved or they wouldn't be sent out in the first place. Of course we want all of them to return safely, but troops are sent to war to assuage any threat to the U.S. that the Commander-in-Chief deems valid. There is no draft; members of the U.S. Armed Forces courageously volunteer to risk their lives to protect the freedoms and liberties we enjoy as Americans. They understand that they have no control over where they are going and what they are doing, yet they volunteer regardless. Unless the objective has been achieved, "supporting the troops by bringing them home" seems to equate to a polite admission of no-confidence in our military.

Its like the christians who attack evolution by saying look science changed, look at this 1950s textbook its different from the 2007 one

I just read a question about a guy saying something about listening to foreigners phone calls to see if they are planning an attack.

Is there any US Senator or Congressman in this decade who said we should not listen to phonecalls placed by non-US citizens?

Can I get a link to a speech or a news clip with the story?

Just name one liberal elected official who said we shouldn't listen to foreigners phone calls please.

Regarding US citizen, I would hope every liberal would reference the 4th amendment to the US Constitution.

Conservatives, its the law, its not toilet paper.

Someone who feels that Communism is creeping into the US posted this link:

http://www.uhuh.com/nwo/communism/comgoals.htm

As you can see, it presents a pretty long list of the supposed goals of the Communists for the US. Notice that among the things listed are a preference for peaceful coexistence between the US and other countries over nuclear war, a desire to disband the House Un-American Activities Committee (that is, put an end to witch hunts), a wish to end colonial governments around the world, and a desire for gays and straights to be treated equally under the law. This may sound silly, but I think that anyone who would choose to blow up the planet over finding a peaceful solution is nuts. Also, promoting witch hunts, colonial governments, and discrimination against certain groups just sound un-American to me. And not only that, but I actually wonder how promoting gay rights actually falls into the Communist Party line. After all, Stalin and Castro actually persecuted gays

A cop sitting in a bathroom stall watching and listening to innocent people do their business, waiting to arrest someone whose feet move in the stall next to them, that's great - - - -

but wiretapping foreign radical mullahs' phonecalls into the US to make sure they're not giving the green light to blow up Sears Tower, THAT'S fascism?????

Look at what Satanomics did to the American Poor and lower middle class, it sent them into deep povert and crime ridden neighborhoods, even though I overcame the Ghetto, and made something out of my self (Retired Army) now I have my own business and make over 300,000 a year, but I am still a proud God Fearing Conservative Liberal

"President Bush will be viewed as a far-sighted leader who confronted the key test of the 21st century.

He will be judged as a man of moral clarity who put America on wartime footing in the dangerous struggle against radical Islamic terrorism."

I agree with Rove. Not only has Bush kept us safe from another major TERROR attack since 9/11 he also has restored Honor & Dignity back to the oval office after Clinton. History will be kind to this great leader.

I think our past political activities overseas created many reasons for them to hate us. Now we have to deal with it. The majority of the public seemed to think that they came here and hit us with 9/11 first.

Ever noticed when he goes on vacation he always has a far right winger to cover for him. Before it was John Kasick a former Republican senator, then Laura Ingraham, right wing radio host and Regan Speech writer, and now Michelle Malkin right wing blogger. He does has yet to have anyone from the left substitute for him, and even if he has a conservative on they are well known for being heavy right wing spinners.

Clinton doesn't claim to be the perfect model citizen like conservatives do. When a conservative commits an act like that one Larry Craig did.....it goes against everything that he preaches on a daily basis. The problem is conservatives themselves can not live up to their great expectations for how they think one should live. They judge every other person around them when it is them that secretly wants to live an "immoral" lifestyle. I guess that is all Sean Hannity can come up with are Clinton slams....will it ever get old? Get something new to bash on liberals for....i mean we democrats dont have to do a lot of searching Republicans seem to be making a lot of m,istakes these days.

I guess it's his own fault that he has to endure such humiliation, but I feel sorry for the guy....and especially for his wife. It seems that most believe the police and not the Senator. This can't get any better for him...he should resign.

China is in Africa for economic reasons and is not doing it militarily, but rather diplomatically.

America is in Iraq for economic reasons and is doing it militarily.

I like China's way better.

That is as simple as it gets.

I see Bush is going to bail out those people, unlike you and I, who took out big mortgages without being sure they could repay them.

Can we still get in on the deal?

The great thing about America is that you can take out a loan without showing any proof that you can repay it. Then you get bailed out.

Actually, why haven't any prominent gay activists been on TV to either confirm or deny the officer's accusations that this behavior is "common" and is "signals"?
And DON'T say this is too ridiculous for someone to discuss, because it is SERIOUS enough to have landed someone in jail!

So I would like to know - from people who are almost always consulted to discuss homosexuals' attitudes and behavior toward marriage, crime, civil rights, etc. - whether the behavior the Senator was accused is in fact common enough in the homosexual community, to support an accusation of solicitation?

As a Soldier, I get offended when I hear people say they support the troops and not the war.

How can you honestly say that you support the troops and in the very next breathe turn around and say that what we're doing is an act of terrorism, that we're murderers fighting an unjust war, that we've lost the war, that there's no way we can win, etc. It undermines everything we're working so hard to accomplish, that IS NOT support, that's working against us.

That's like telling your wife that you support her opening a business but then going around town saying that her business is illegal, immoral, worthless and useless.

Many of the Soldiers I know believe the same thing.

What do other members of the Military think?
What do members of soceity think?

Question: Dude... Why do Belgians obsess over US politics?

Question Details: And then troll and report those that don't agree with them?

Deleted Answer: They resent the fact that we have saved their sorry asses from tyrants and totalitarian governments numerous times. They resent the fact that their best and brightest flee for America when given the opportunity so they may reach their true potential. They realise that if the best and brightest are gone, they (those remaining) are required to work beyond their limited ability to keep their welfare state afloat. They resent the fact that despite their political posturing, America continues to provide for their military defence, proving that we stand by allies no matter how hypocritical they become. They resent the fact that first America, and now Asian economies are rendering their feeble failed socialist experiment more irrelevant yearly. They are impotent and they know it.

EDIT: this actually applies to much of the EU.
