Someone who feels that Communism is creeping into the US posted this link:

http://www.uhuh.com/nwo/communism/comgoals.htm

As you can see, it presents a pretty long list of the supposed goals of the Communists for the US. Notice that among the things listed are a preference for peaceful coexistence between the US and other countries over nuclear war, a desire to disband the House Un-American Activities Committee (that is, put an end to witch hunts), a wish to end colonial governments around the world, and a desire for gays and straights to be treated equally under the law. This may sound silly, but I think that anyone who would choose to blow up the planet over finding a peaceful solution is nuts. Also, promoting witch hunts, colonial governments, and discrimination against certain groups just sound un-American to me. And not only that, but I actually wonder how promoting gay rights actually falls into the Communist Party line. After all, Stalin and Castro actually persecuted gays

Because people dont understand Communism, they just lump all liberal ideas (well, all the ones they dont agree with at least) into Communism because its much easier than admitting theyre ignorant.

No pure system works. That includes capitalism, democracy, monarchy, socialism, feudalism, communism, fascism--none of them work without elements of the others to balance them out.

Communism, socialism, both are used as bad words to describe liberalism, which in and of itself has become a bad word. Amazing, isn't it? None of these words are bad, they all represent different forms of thought, every one of them involved in government. Even communism shouldn't be touted so badly, because Stalin wasn't communist (communism is currently just an ideal, it hasn't truly worked in any instance, much like pure democracy). Yet people lump them together and say their all bad. It's really sad, but unfortunately, liberals do the same to conservatives. Saying they're the same as fascists, Hitlerites, fear mongerers, poor haters, everything. There's two sides to this coin, one side just has to stop doing it to actually make this country look half decent politically.

OK, to start, "promoting witch hunts, colonial governments, and discrimination against certain groups just sound un-American to me"...actually sounds very "American"...and always has been historically...What is funny, while the document is labeled "communist" or "socialist", it sounds very fascist and very, and frighteningly, close to North America today...hence the theory that fascism has slipped back through the door and is alive and well in the U.S...extreme? abstract? of course but terribly close.

1)That list is a fraud. It was part of the anti communist witch hunt. That list is clearly fabricated and doesn't show any of the goals real communists would want for America. So the asker of that Q starts with an outdated phony list to begin with
2)to answer your question it doesn't.
It's really about demonizing any progressive idea by calling it communist like the regressive right always did, does and probably always will..
They have no idea's or plans to bring to the table so trying to discredit those who do is all that's left

It doesn't make you a Commie. However, what an absurd question! Who loves nukes? Who doesn't want world peace? Why should gays have special rights? Who hunts witches in this day and age? Good Grief!!! I've never heard of such nonsense!
