Obviously your boss is trying to terrorize you. You should go and stage a walk-out and protest with little signs that say "Anti-Green --- Your So Mean!"
On the other hand, you could just ask your boss what the fu++++ problem is with plants in the office!

As an alternative to moving plants to a window every weekend, would it be possible to get a small desk lamp with a full spectrum compact fluorescent bulb and just keep that over your plants when the rest of the lights are out? Maybe you could try out some carnivorous plants. There are hundreds of varieties of sundews (Drosera) and butterwarts (Pinguicula) that thrive under artificial lights. Not only are they fun, beautiful, and easy to grow, they are a great topic of conversation for curious passersby. I would avoid Venus Flytraps though for in the office. They are temperate species that do best in full sun with warm days and cool nights, and need a dormancy period of several months in the winter which would be difficult to duplicate in a climate controlled office.

Your boss is a Space Alien! He is used to the Uber-Sterile Environment of an Inter-Stellar Spaceship. Those horrible evil plants remind him that he's now stuck dirt-side on a primitive Planet instead or roaming the Galactic Void. Keep a close eye on him and don't let him replace the All-Organic Snack Machine with a Cigarette Vending Machine. Space Aliens HATE healthy Humans!

LOL no I don't think so.
Maybe it's just one of those crazy HR issues and your boss has no control over it.
HR once took down a sign I'd been allowed to put up, which was asking for school supply donations for needy kids in New Orleans, because my HR people don't all talk to each other. One HR person approved putting it up (my boss had been the one to pose the idea to them- she thought her action in posing it would have more validity to them than my posing it, due to seniority) and another took it down because she didn't know another HR person had approved it beforehand.
Yet oddly, no one ever put it back up again once the miscommunication was ironed out!

Yes, it's my belief (and surely the rest of yahoo answers) that your boss is running a totalitarian working environment set on shutting down all creative juices. That, or he just feels plants are unprofessional. Hmm.

Your boss is just uniformed and ignorant. It is well documented that those who work in an environments with plants tend to work harder, be happier and are more efficient (the same can be said about fish aquariums, which is why I have a koi pond in mine). Lighting and air temperature can also effect ones work habits.

You are in the "real world" so you should expect that people in charge will dictate what they think is successful. They are very narrow minded. They think that if plants don't inspire them, then they would not inspire others.
I know you can't do much to change your situation, but just know that he is probably not gettin any at home. That is some solice.

Wow, I have both liberal and conservative managers and supervisors that allow plant in the office and repair stations at Honeywell. There are more factors that you left out and I'm sure of it. Don't like it? Then leave.

Perhaps he's concerned that certain staff members are idiots and while watering the plants mayinstead water the computer system and short out days of work?

Maybe your boss knows that an office isn't supposed to be a greenhouse or hothouse (aka liberal college).
Jeez, your question is so lame. How do you libs go on with such jazz in your heads?
