Hey, the gal I've been with for the past six years just witnessed her son's first anniversary with a democrat wife.
He's republican.
He chairs the republican party at his college and she chairs the democrat party at the same college.

If you are in a relationship with anyone where you have to say he "let's" you do something then by all means dump him. I think basing your decision to be with someone on whether he is a republican or not is a bit much. If that is the question that you are mulling over then your relationship is probably already over already. What about whether he is a good man? What about if he treats you well, respects you AND your decisions? Wouldn't that be more important than who he votes for?

No, real Republicans are fine upstanding people.
I agree 100% with them on fiscal responsibility, smaller Government, and individual liberties.
Unfortunately there is also now the type of so called Republican who thinks the Govt should not be responsible for it's growth, spending and mounting debt.
These same "folks" also like to tell you what to do and what to believe, while at the same time infringing on your Constitutional liberties.
Conservative means fiscal responsibility, conservative morals are simply personal opinions.
Best kept to yourself.

Whoa, Sarah. You need to start enjoying life a little more. What I mean is, there is a lot more to life than politics. If you see politics as a lithmus test for datability, I think your priorities are seriously skewed.

if you're really that shallow, then sure, why not?
There is many a couple I know where each person is of a different political party though. And their relationships work quite well.
You're dating the person, not the political party.

If that is all you have against the dude I say keep him. That is trivial when true love is in bloom. If you have other issues with him too than dump him.
