When the state provides all your needs, why should you look for a job? Are we now are we coming to realize that the “benevolent paternalism” of a LIBERAL Nanny State government does more harm than good? Has anyone seen our inner cities that vote blue in exchange for more 'goodies'?

The United States is facing attacks from numerous terrorists. Do you believe that, eventually, the country will no longer be able to remain a world power if the attacks become more frequent and severe?

Dems have been the strongest supporters of gay people-Fact

Now suddenly a Republican party member comes out of the closet, dems are rejoicing his misfortune rather than showing him support and tolerance.

As for me, I never heard of him before all this hoopala. I think if he really did make unwanted sexual advances toward anyone then he needs to go.

FBI agents in the United States probing relatives of Saudi-born terror suspect Osama Bin Laden before September 11 were told to back off soon after George W Bush became president, the BBC has reported.
The BBC's Newsnight current affairs programme on Tuesday said that Bush at one point had a number of connections with Saudi Arabia's prominent Bin Laden family.

It added there was a suspicion that the US strategic interest in Saudi Arabia, which has the world's biggest oil reserve, blunted its inquiries into individuals with suspected terrorist connections -- so long as the US was safe.

Newsnight reported it had seen secret documents from an FBI probe into the September 11 terror attacks that showed that at least two other US-based members of the Bin Laden family are suspected to have links with a possible terrorist organisation.

The programme said it had obtained evidence that the FBI was on the trail of Bin Laden family members living in United States before, as well as after, the terrorist attacks.

Newsnight said Bush made his first million 20 years ago with an oil company partly funded by the chief US representative of Salem Bin Laden, Osama's brother.

Bush also received fees as director of a subsidiary of Carlyle Corporation, a little-known private company which in just a few years since its founding has become one of America's biggest defence contractors, and his father, George Bush Sr, is also a paid advisor, the programme said.

The connection became embarrassing when it was revealed that the Bin Ladens held a stake in Carlyle, sold just after September 11, it added.

-
i.e. - Republicans are hypocrites because of Larry Craig, Democrats are not hypocrites when they bleat about hypocrisy and corruption yet allow William Jefferson, Barney Frank, etc to remain in congress?

Me, my cousin, and a couple of my co-workers were having a discussion. We were debating about The 'BLACK' Republican running against The 'WHITE' Democrat for President. We were debating who would the 'WHITE' Republicans vote for, The 'BLACK' Republican or The 'WHITE' Democrat?

I think in this country it's 'SKIN TONE' first. I can't see 'WHITE' Republicans voting for a 'BLACK' man. In this country it's hard enough for a 'BLACK' man to get promoted at certain jobs (even if he's qualified). In this country 'RACISM' still exist and I can't see a racist voting for a 'BLACK' man (even if he's protecting their money). What do you guys think?

BTW, don't get me wrong because I'm not calling 'ALL' republicans racist. I think that some would vote for the brotha but the 'MAJORITY' won't.

You guys have been defending him all day, saying that Democrats are a bunch of hypocritical homophobes because Republicans have been calling for his resignation. So my questions are:

1. Why do you defend people who admit to having broken public decency laws?
2. Why did Craig plead guilty if he did nothing wrong?
3. Why is Craig resigning if there's nothing wrong with what he did?

Don't talk to me about Democrat pressure, either, because leading Dems have been silent on the issue. It was REPUBLICAN officials that called for his head on a platter.

Tonight, on CNN, there was a story about a 107 year old Canadian Woman who lives in Cuba. She has a lot of money in USA banks but our government will not let her have it because they hate Castro. (These same people loved Babtista the dictator.) The announcer said, "She is not Cuban or American. She is Canadian." My map shows Canada just north of the United States. Very much a part of America. Why do citizens of the USA insult all the rest of America?

Have you ever heard of Marvin Bush, presidents youngest brother? Incidentally, Marvin Bush was a principal in a company called Securacom that provided security for the World Trade Center.Furthermore on that day of September 11, Marvin Bush was in New York City. Is it just a coincidence or what?

According to this poll, Most of America thinks so and so do I.

He edged out Abraham Lincoln, who abolished slavery, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King.

George Washington, the first US president who is considered the father of the nation, comes in at fourth place.

Current US President George W Bush #6 and his predecessor Bill Clinton #7 , whose presidency was tarnished by the Monica Lewinski sex scandal, are both in the top 10.

While the powers that be can fuss about with the definition of murder and sectarian killings they cant change the fact that the most US deaths for any May, June or July were all in 2007. Maybe they have changed from sectarian killing to US soldier killing.

The Bush supporters say that we have not had another attack on American soil since 9/11. That is a good thing....but WHY are some Americans this afraid of a terror attack? A woman was concerned because of a few Iraqi passengers who were speaking Arabic on board her flight (American Airlines flight 590 from San Fransisco to Chicago). These Iraqis turned out to be Iraq ans U.S. citizens who was hired by the U.S. as part of a training mission at Camp Pendleton. All of the passengers were moved onto other flights because the woman's fear caused a large delay. Is this way over the top or did this woman have a rational fear to delay an entire plane just because she was afraid of some Arabic speaking men? If our president and government are keeping us so safe than why are some people so scared?

they ratchet up the rates at the middle class level??? We got hit with the Clinton tax hike in '94 - - - well, '93 actually because it was retroactive. At the time my then-wife and I were childless and made combined, about $72M (each of us makes more than that combined figure now). We lived in Fairlington (south Arlington County, VA - we MOVED for WORK, which people in Flint, MI seem unable or unwilling to do....) - in a rented 2 br townhouse. Were we rich?

Even some of the proposals now, well we'll stick it to the rich, they say - - - and you look at the numbers and it's anyone over six figures.

OK even if you think it's "fair" (even though it might actually reduce overall tax revenue) to "stick it to the rich" how come the Democrats define "rich" differently than the rest of us do?
If it were a higher rate for inviduals making over $250K per year, then another higher rate for individuals making over $1,000,000 per year, at least that would be INTERNALLY consistent...

The Terrorists have hit London, Spain, Bali and others but because of George W. Bush's policies;

Wire Taps
Patriot Act
Cuba Prison Camps
Fighting them over there....so we don't have to fight them over here.

The terrorists have not been able to strike America on her own soil.

Also, thanks for bringing Honor & Dignity back to the White House after Clinton and for this great economy Mr. President!

Why even bother to ask questions here in politics?
