That's a good point. There was detente (of sorts) between the parties even through the Clinton years and the impeachment stuff. Since 2000 (and the fiasco down in Florida - regardless of who you think should have won, it was a fiasco) - the country has been very divided.

What happened to the "Uniter not Divider."

I guess now, he's only the "Decider."

Yes, because before the neocon arrived on the scene, Dems and Repubs were able to see the larger picture. Now it's all about party and not about country at all.

Let's back the history truck up for a moment....beep...beep...beep....

OK...history shows that our political parties have always been at odds with each other...and the trading of votes for special favors, criticism of the current administration, rumors of misconduct are as old as the country itself.

Let us not blame all our country's woes on any one faction of the current political system.

Yep, but it isn't only the neocon. The left has it's radical element too. The parties have been hijacked by their radical elements and the moderates have been silenced. I only hope that we don't make a drastic move from the right wing radicals to the left wing radicals in the next elections. If we do, I don't think this country is going to survive it.
