I don't foresee it in the near future.
We are the longest lasting democracy in known history.
We are the only remaining superpower in the world both in a military and economic sense. When we cough, the world gets a cold.
Our forefathers were brilliant and the US Constitution is an incredible document of foresight and has lasted for 220 years and may very well last another 1000 years. It is that good.
If we change from our present form of government, or if we allow another nation to overtake us, we could fail.
But honestly, do you see that happening?
The terrorists are like ants.
Eventually we will take them down.

We run more of a chance of that happening if we bankrupt ourselves by chasing those 'numerous' terrorists over half the world. Look at it this way, they spend around $100,000 on tickets and training to knock down the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and whatever other target they had in mind.
We have, under the idea that we are getting the terrorists, spent $500Billion just in Iraq, and they didn't attack us. Toss in another $200 Billion for Afghanistan, and another $200billion for airport security and spotty port checks, and border guards and paperwork.
At least eight hundred billion and they only spend one hundred thousand. Great odds, they don't have to attack us, all they have to do is put something out on a website and we blow another six or seven million in overtime for cops.
And with all that, you can still walk over the Mexican border at will.
We need to sharpen our focus, and let the Iraqis fight it out, get the man responsible for 9/11 Bin Ladin, and develope an alternative fuel for cars and machinery with all the effort we put into the Manhattan project. Then we will not have to worry about a crazed bunch of fanatics in a sandbox. And we won't go broke doing it.

fairly unlikely, the worldwide has stopped usa construction as of the previous 70 years (around WW2 ending, Britain misplaced some colonies like India, France misplaced Vietnam presently after besides). the u . s . a . is bordered on the two aspects by an quite friendly neighbor and an quite undesirable neighbor that could desire to in no way threaten it. as long as they shop administration of the oceans/seas/gulfs could make it fairly difficult to invade them. You ever seen a lazy American? lolz.....maximum people artwork 40 hour weeks (I artwork a 6 day artwork week), Europeans artwork approximately 32 hours each week....and Russians do not even have jobs. The chinese language are too busy fooking and farming, the eastern in no way have been that great, the Romans are long ineffective, the Greeks are a humorous tale now, the Turks have not been an empire for the previous a hundred years....if it does take place sometime (fairly unlikely) you particular heavily isn't around to witness it interest. have faith me on that one. in accordance on your concept on kin togetherness, Afghanistan could desire to be #a million yet seem the place their "togetherness" has gotten them.

Every empire falls. Its just that simple. No country can remain a superpower forever.
The Romans rose, the Romans fell.
Spain rose, Spain fell.
France rose, France fell.
And the list goes on...Russia, Britain, China, Japan, Germany, etc etc.

The United States will fall one day, all governments and countries do fail, but not any time soon, and not from terrorist attacks.

Yes I think that is a possibility. Look at the great ROMAN empire. They are the world's power but war tore apart the nation.
In the case of the U.S, I doubt that it would be another civil war that will tear it apart. If we keep on going to war with other nations, we would fall because the war strains the economy.
Holding world power is like being an inflated baloon. You are bound to pop if you are not careful.

I don't think it will fall apart, I think it will not be a world power in about 5-10 years. The world will end in about 100 years, so America won't have that much time to destroy itself.

Yes. Every empire falls. Sometimes further than other times (take Britain for example, still a rich and powerful country - not like Rome, which caused civilization to collapse for hundreds of years), but it is 99.9% certain that the US will not be the dominant power until the end of the world - unless of course the US ends the world whilst it is still the major power.

...a quick study or History will answer your question... Every powerful Nation that has ever been in power has eventually fallen by it's own selfish arrogance... "Yes", in time it will collapse... So "enjoy" what you have... it's going to belong to someone else... and the cycle will continue...

Terrorists could systematically obliterate half of our population, and America will not falter.
They don't have the means to accomplish even this much.
America will fall because of corruption and voter apathy.
